I am so glad I didn't let the reviews that said this soap was drying and had a weird scent detract me from giving this one a try. I've been using this soap for a couple weeks now and I'm officially obsessed to the point where I really hope Amazon Fresh never stops selling this. Regarding this soap being drying, I find it's completely the opposite for me. The high glycerin content seems to be doing a great job at keeping my hands from feeling dry. Also, having such a high amount of glycerin in this product makes the formula feel soooo silky when you're using it. The feeling on my hands when I'm lathering up is so luxurious I am almost convinced I'm using a high end, $25 hand soap. But the best part is that even though it feels so silky, it actually does a fantastic job at cleaning my hands. After I rinse, my skin feels squeaky clean, but not dry or tight. As for the fragrance, I agree that it doesn't quite smell like pears. To me, there is a subtle pear note but it's mixed with something else. I detect a slight honey note there, but it's in no way sickeningly sweet. It's a fresh, almost herbal scent and it's not overpowering at all. Very subtle and pleasant. If you're on the fence about this one, I say give it a shot. You just might be as pleasantly surprised as I was! This really feels like a soap that's 3x the price when I'm using it. I bought this hoping it would smell more fruity or more fancy for a get together at my house. To be honest it smells like something I would’ve kept in my barn when I used to have horses. Because it smells like the leather cleaners are used to use. Functionally it works great as a soap so that’s why I gave it three stars but I do not like the smell and from what I can think of pears, it doesn’t smell anything like a pear. ... show more
