I have had several case like this model that require screws to hold it together. So far this has been the most rugged of the cases I have used. So far the case has protected my phone from several drops form counter height onto floors, dirt, concrete, and asphalt. For drop protection this case and cases like it are the best. The two down sides is the case impedes the sound and the plastic screen protects tend to scratch and break easily. Also the screen lets water in near air the top speaker and you have to disassemble the case to dry it out. I can live with these since I am such a klutz and need good sturdy protection. The kick stand is a good feature and I have never had on a phone case. So far it’s holding up but I am unsure how long it will last with the hard abuse I put cases through. Over all great case for folks who drop there phones on a near daily basis. ... show more

Very well made and solid case. Definitely feels like it will protect the phone well. The only two things to be aware of: 1) this is a rather large case for a large phone. This case is held together with screws and you have to remove the screen protector on the phone before you can use this case, otherwise it is too hard to text. on the other hand it is a beautiful case, and if you're not one of those people who like to with cases often, then this case is for you.

The case is great, it’s heavy and protective, but straight out of the box it had damage done to it. Edit: They saw my review and reached out to me offering a full refund. The customer service is pretty excellent so I will be trying again and ordering another case from them just to see.

I fell down a FULL flight of cement stairs. I threw the phone down in a “knee-jerk” reaction in an attempt to grab the railing as I fell. It didn’t help! I still went crashing all the way down. I can’t say “inches” trying to describe how close I came to smashing my face into a cement wall at the bottom of the stairs because it was less than an inch but I hit the “landing” between the two flights of stairs that my glasses flew off my face with so much force that they hit that cement wall, snapped into multiple pieces, and knocked the lenses completely out of the frame and landed more than 6 feet apart. When I got up, (with the help of two complete strangers) one of them handed me my iphone. I was sure that when I flipped it around to the front it was going to be totally smashed into pieces. No one will ever believe that there was not so much as even a “scratch” at the spot where the phone first hit the stairwell or how many times it bounced before it landed on the ground. I myself only believe this because the case was brand new and it didn’t even have the normal scratches or “wear” spots from every day use because I had just put it on earlier that day. but THERE WAS NOT EVEN A “SCRATCH” PROVING THE PHONE EVER LEFT MY HAND WHEN I THREW IT TO TRY TO GRAB THE STAIR RAIL TO PREVENT MY FALL. It didn’t work! I still fell down the full flight and got pretty banged up! I got home and sat down and had a good look and I am amazed to this day that not even a scratch was made on the case (it was brand new) but I never drop my phone (that was also brand spanking new), that I paid for “IN FULL” when I bought it & OPTED OUT of the insurance protection plan because I never drop my phone. I still say to myself that the phone never hit the ground or stairs because there is no way that this $16 cell phone case protected my phone so well that it survived a flight down a set of full cement stairs without even a scratch, that’s just not possible. I don’t know where it landed when I threw it in reaction to grab the railing to try to prevent myself from falling, but trust me when I say I threw the phone to grab that railing. I’m still talking on that same phone today a year after that fall and I only gave this item a review because when I opened up my Amazon app, it asked me to review recent purchases. I never “review”purchases, i probably should, but I just don’t! BUT I KNOW I WILL NEVER USE ANY OTHER CASE FOR MY FUTURE IPHONES. I was a die hard “otter box” user with every iphone i have ever owned but i can tell you that any otter box case would have ended up like the glasses that flew off my face and smashed into multiple pieces. I never told this to anybody because I had no way to prove I threw the phone to grab the stair rail because there were no dents or even the smallest of dents or scratches anywhere. I still don’t believe how that’s possible but I’m still using the same case that I had that day. The case is great. My phone is very protected and secure. I love the positive rubberized grip, size and weight. I love the sound channels in the case that direct the sound forward, essentially giving you a forward facing speaker. That is the best feature and I didn't expect it. Unfortunately, with all of the great attributes the case is still ususable because it deletes two whole bars of service from my phone. I live in a rural area and most of the time all I have is those two bars. It's wonderful, but it's makes my phone reliant on wifi like a tablet. Great, but pointless. ... show more
