I was excited to try this winch (to pull broken down zero turns onto my trailer , but it was completely dead right out of the box. Thankfully, I tested it before going through the hassle of mounting it on my utility trailer. No motion,no noise, no smoke, nothing... To rule out any power issues, I direct-wired it to my 304Ah LiFePO4 battery with a 2C discharge capability—nothing. Then, I hooked it directly to my Chevy Trail Boss Silverado battery, and still, nothing. For a product that’s supposed to handle heavy-duty tasks, this was a huge disappointment. The build looks solid, but that doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work at all. I expected better quality control for something like this. If you’re considering this winch, make sure to test it immediately. I wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience.

I got this winch to replace my old one on my Honda rancher. I use the winch for the snowplow during winter. Installing the new winch was very simple and was a direct replacement. I no longer hurt my hands on the metal rope now with this new winch like I did with an old one.

This is a nice little winch that I found was super easy to install and use. I really like the disengage knob as it was very simple to use. Very simple installation with easy wiring. Great for your ATV or trailer. Doesnt seem to consume a lot of power for the weight rating. I didnt have any of the issues that other reviewers seemed to have.

The media could not be loaded. I highly recommend the first thing you do is watch the video I made, it's going to cover most of the areas you need to know about. The latter pictures are after I maid repairs such as adding an appropriate amount of grease, adjusting how far the gear protrudes from the spool when it is retracted into the free spool position, connector comparison and repacking the winch in a more appropriate manner in the shipping box. To give more information on the freespool issue, I found that when the knob on the right side of the winch is turned to free spool, it retracts a gear in the center of the spool so that it does not make contact with the planetary gear set attached to the motor. From the factory, the protrusion of this gear from the spool was not properly set so when it was retracted, it was not pulling fully back into the spool and thus still making contact with the planetary gear set. I adjusted this and was able to fix it. As far as the beyond loud amount of running noise, I was able to reduce this by approximately 75% just by packing the planetary gear set appropriately with high quality grease. I cannot recommend this winch for purchase unless you are mechanically inclined to repair it right out of the box. Additionally I would recommend at minimum 8 gauge wire preferably 6 gauge for hooking it up, what is provided is 10 gauge. I think the biggest problem with this which is a lack of quality control, specifically post assembly inspection and confirmation of proper operation. If the manufacturer can clear those things up and remedy the wiring situation, it has potential.

The media could not be loaded. Strong motor, wiring cables included, removable wired remote plus a wireless remote with pre-installed battery. Action is slow but steady with ample power. Quick release with a knob turn. Rope is light but strong. Not super loud but not quiet either. For some reason some parts were covered in foam that was sticking to parts. Should be a perfect size for quads and even a side by side.
