So after looking at multiple choices for this particular item, I went with this one. None of the choices I looked at were showing it being used for what I'm going to do as the design on this is to keep the space under your existing fence from being dug under maybe by your dog or something. In my particular case I have a woodchuck under my house. One section of my house doesn't have a full full concrete foundation under it, instead it's set up a little different the outside of it is weather treated plywood. This only goes down to the dirt and woodchucks have a very easy time digging under it. I've had this problem before and I put up a partial stone wall where they have dug in the past however now I'm looking for more of a complete fix.. First off eradicating the woodchucks, I have found that some tennis balls soaked in coyote urine rolled under there work pretty well, but that's another story... After you've eradicated the varmints, tapping these into the ground around the entire perimeter of my foundation was actually rather easy. The soil around my house luckily for me has a little bit of clay in it so it's rather pliable however if you do have harder packed soil, grab yourself a rubber mallet and gently tap these into the ground and if you're still having a little trouble I have found that a little bit of water on the soil makes it a little more pliable to get these to sink in. One of the main reasons I chose this one as opposed to others is because of the spaces. These are just over 1 in and my research has showed that a woodchuck for example can squeeze through spaces right around 2 in or slightly larger. I wanted to make sure that even the little ones weren't able to get back under my house. So in addition to being very effective, easy to install, these also look rather nice. I mean I've got a lot of rose bushes and stuff in front of my house anyway but the finish and these doesn't look out of place or anything as far as being an extra piece of metal up against the side of the foundation. And of course they do sink into the ground far enough that in my humble opinion anything trying to dig under it is going to give up.

They work great. Have a chain link fence and the bottom does not always reach the bottom. I have neighbors who have small dogs and we recently got a dog. I put these along the fence line and kept their small dogs coming in to the yard. Easy to install tap into the ground with a rubber mallet and and supplied plastic ties the fencing together.

This stuff works great on the bottom of my white vinyl fence , I have a 2 to 4 inch gap and wanted it blocked so critters could not crawl under into my gardens. Good stuff. I gave 4 stars because it came with black zip ties instead of white . I don't want the zip ties to stand out. So I bought white ties. Otherwise easy to install and quite sturdy.

In fact the animal was so frustrated he ended up just walking down my driveway to get to my backyard instead. Had to chase his big butt away with the quickness! I installed half of them today. Idk if they’ll hold up but they seem very sturdy and should hold up for a while, at least. I have a velociraptor for a dog and she’s finally learned she’s skinny & strong enough to squeeze out under the wood & wire. They came in quick and just in time too because with weed eating, she’s noticed ALLLLL of the low spots under the porch. Definitely worth ordering
