Happy to report, it’s sturdy and hasn’t fallen over once. She loves it. She can even climb/jump to the top and sit on top without me fearing it toppling over. There is plenty of room for scratching. Assembly was pretty quick. Picture of instructions for assembly should have been larger to distinguish the way the middle part went. Cat likes it but won't even try the seat on top. It seems too small. My cat is only 8 pounds and jumps really high so that must be the size of the seat??Enlarge the seat a bit. It is attractive, fitting nicely in a corner near the window

All scratching post are certainly not the same. This is the one you need. After purchasing two others that simply fell apart over a short period of time, I decided to spend a litter more, and I am certainly pleased. Tall, sturdy, well made and most importantly cats love it !

I guess the post itself is okay, I just got done putting it together and it looks okay. I think the base should have something heavy on it, like a brick or the corner of a piece of furniture, to stop it from topling over from the weight of my sumo-sized cat. Anyway, I had some trial and error putting it together. It has a lame tiny drawing showing the order in which the pieces should be arranged, but no clue as to which hardware to use and where. They could do much better with the instructions and they should.

I bought this after my cats took a sudden interest in the corners of my couch. They have a cat tree with scratching posts on it, but they started to prefer my couch... I've had this scratching post for over week now and it's been a great success! They use it all the time and have completely left my furniture alone!! Definitely recommend.
