- APPLICATION : Tung oil can be applied with a cloth,brush,or most any applicator suitable for "oil based" paint.A squeegee is a nice option for large flat surfaces.An absorbent cloth is usually best for removing excess from the surface. On many projects it may be helpful to buff with a mild abrasive pad between applicatons, to help penetration and enhance smoothness.
- DRYING TIME:Tung Oil dries relatively slow as it reacts with oxygen in the air to cure.A warm,dry,and well ventilated environment is best.Tung oil is fully cured when it no longer feels oily and its nutty aroma is no longer present.
- OTHER USES : When using on outdoor surfaces,it may be best to treat both the wood and Tung Oil with a suitable biocide to limit mold and mildew growth . Tung Oil also acts as a corrosioninhibitor which makes it great for fighting rust on many outdoor metal surfaces.such as garden tools,Wooden products, ironware, hemp rope. Note: If there is paint on the surface of furniture or tools, tung oil cannot be used
