Installation was quite easy, the three color switch is very useful to select blue-white, daylight, or incandescent-like lighting. I chose the middle daylight. It's a very bright uniform light, being used in the kitchen. A large light in the kitchen works well to reduce shadows when preparing food. Have only had it for a week or so, but LED fixtures that don't have replaceable bulbs tend to die after 10 years or so, but time will tell. For this reason, I consider this type of fixture not "permanent" but expect it to be replaced at some time in the future. For the price, it's a great value and I'm tempted to buy another just to keep in reserve. ... show more

    • Buzzed with my lutron caseta smart dimmer
I purchased the 32" oval light since I wanted a bright light for a big room, and many 4ft florescent LED replacements lights don't dim. Based on other reviews people have had a success with the caseta switches, at least on other sizes. For me however even on full brightness it was noticeable, and when dimmed it buzzed very loudly, enough to be distracting, so much so that I won't keep it. Installation was straight forward, 6 toggle bolts hold it to the ceiling, plus two into the electrical box, though not mentioned in the instructions. Two steel wires hold it place while you connect the electrical cables. It took a few attempts to clip it in place, but was fairly simple. The unit did feel solid, and is probably fine with without a dimmer, but not recommended with a caseta smart dimmer. ... show more

UPDATE REVIEW I went down to a 1 star. Had the light installed less than 3 months and it goes out. Turn it back on, goes out. Not worth anything and a pain in the ever loving rear to get this corrected. I won't be buying anything lighting from AMAZON// Love the 5000K cool white light. I HATE that it does not come with a remote. despite the "controlled by remote" description. I have a 3 way switch on 2 lights, So I really needed a remote to control the lights separately. Now I have to purchase a remote for each light, and not happy about it. They are lightweight, fit flush against the ceiling, despite the popcorn on the ceiling. I just can't have one off and one on, without programming a remote for each light. the brightness is what got the higher star rating. If I'd known about the no remote, I wouldn't have purchased these lights. but I do like the bright cool white. ... show more
