Background- I’m a hobbyist kuwician, and have been playing for 25 years. This guitar just doesn’t hit the mark. Body quality is okay, but don’t expect to be able to lay anything. Open note tuning is hit or miss, but either way cheap tuners that’s expected. The neck doesn’t have a truss rod, and no amount of intonation tweaking will result in accurate notes on the neck. I spent probably 2-3 hours, and it just doesn’t hold the notes. The amp is equally bad. Any sort of input results in the speaker crackling and clipping. I verified it with the included guitar, a fender telecaster, an iceman, and even a few basses. Turning this thing I above zero results in terrible crackling and breaking up of the signal. I tried another battery and cable just to be sure it was the amp, and there was no change. The same instruments and cables on a different amplifier work without issue.

We bought this guitar kit for our younger kids (ages 5 and 8) who always want to play with their older brother's electric guitar so our expectations were more along the lines of a toy instrument than an instrument to truly learn music on. That said, it fits the bill as something in between the two and did not disappoint as a cheap way to introduce a playable guitar to very young kids. It is good enough for them to learn some basics of electric guitar on. Pros: Decent style and looks like a "real" guitar. Can actually play music on it. Sounds like a real guitar once set up properly Includes all the accessories necessary though they feel "cheap" Wood fretboard is pretty solid Cons: Build quality is mediocre, but expected at this price point Set up and tuning the guitar was a bit tricky Very small, so best for kids 10 or under Cheap Amp doesn't sound great but is ok for practice The included tuner had trouble picking up the high E string. Other thoughts: We didn't have any issues with the frets being sharp. They were smooth and usable. The guitar sounded better and was able to keep tuning longer after replacing the lower 5 strings. I also needed to reconnect a loose wire in the guitar jack after using it once so quality control could be better. Had to adjust the saddle quite a bit to get it tuned and the action to the right height, which is not unusual for a new guitar, but don't expect to be able to play it out of the box and be shredding. The short length of the strings means that the guitar is very sensitive to the amount of pressure used when using the frets. Had to press lightly or the notes would go sharp, but needing less pressure to play the note is easier for the kids to learn on. Use with a real amp to get much better sound.

It is definitely a good guitar so far for kids to learn on. The only thing I've noticed at this time is just that the amp is very good but it is a small amp for a starter kit. It makes a lot of static no matter the volume it's on. But again, it's for them to learn on so it's probably not the most important thing anyway. It was easy to tune and she loved that we could get the color she wanted. It's easy for a kid to hold.

Once we received the delivery, the kids started to play right away. And they fell in love with this guitar. We can not be more pleased with the purchase. The quality is superb! Great sound!
