I have not used this product yet but I know that it will need a five star rating because I ran into this prom before where I've had to put in a wood screw at an angle and there was no way to keep it in place while I ran it into the wood. Definitely a must have product.

This is as described. would be better with an detachable edge guide. However it is very slick and difficult to keep to the working surface without sliding around. Even with a clamp. I use double sided tape and solved this problem. I would buy again for drilling the odd holes in broader field surfaces where you can't reach a clamp but would also look for one with a built in guild to keep consistent distance from an edge. lining up my marks with the center of the hole is an ordeal. basically I have to insert the drill bit into the jig then hold the 2 together while I line up the drill point with my mark then lower the jig onto the work surface, secure by pressing down for the double sided tape to grip then drill. ... show more

Solid and extremely useful steel drill jig. This thing will last a lifetime and once you begin to use it you’ll wonder how you ever did without it. Pricey but worth it if you’re any type of handy person. Would make a great gift.

I found myself unable to consistently create straight and true drilled holes for a project with tight tolerances. As this is a one-off need on my part (mostly the drill is for installing picture hangers, and other domestic sort of stuff), I did not want to invest in a drill press, nor did I want to screw around (no pun intended) with a converter setup. This thing did the job, and now takes up very little space in the cabinet, waiting for its next deployment. If I never use it again, I'll still have had my money's worth. ... show more
