  • Nice quality panels
Size: 5" x 7", 1/8" thick Number of Items: 12
The wood panels are very nice quality. They are consistent, well finished. I haven’t run into any warped panels or panels with voids. I’m satisfied and would purchase again.

  • Good for laser cutting Good for laser cutting

Product was exactly what I need at a good price. Sheets work well with (heavily enhanced) K40 laser cutter. Able to cut in 1 pass at 30% power, 10 mm/sec speed. Taking one star off for things that didn't really matter to me, but I've seen other comments and can verify they are accurate for those who do care: 1) Comments on size are true, the boards are not EXACTLY 10"x10" - are more like 9 7/8" x 9 15/16". If you need the full 10 inches, it isn't there. SELLER - you could easily address this by adding an "Actual Size" caveat to description. 2) RE comments on warping... my batch was pretty flat and true. However there were a couple that were slightly warped. Again, slightly - nothing that was unusable by any means. ... show more

  • It meets the standards for the grade.
Size: 12" x 8", 1/8" thick Number of Items: 8
Many reviews question the thickness, surface, and warping, but they are what you should expect. Thickness : Baltic birch plywood is manufactured to metric standards, so it is 3mm thick, but is sold in the US as 1/8 inch thick because that's closest to the size we're familiar with. I don't think it's possible to buy 1/8 Baltic birch plywood. Surface: Baltic birch plywood is defined by a grading system. The pictures on Amazon showing knot free and blemish free surfaces are misleading. The grade of this plywood is supposed to have a certain amount of blemishes. The eight boards in my package showed fewer blemishes than I expected, so I was lucky this time. Baltic birch plywood is used for furniture in Europe but the 1/8th and 1/4 inch thick boards are too thin for furniture and are used where they won't show, like drawer bottoms and rear panels, so blemishes are expected. Those boards would probably be rated b/b. These boards are b/bb, with bb being the better side. Warping: the 1/8 and 1/4 inch panels are thin and are very likely to warp. I doubt if it's possible to make these panels so that they can't warp. If they came warped, or become warped before you use them, you can try dipping a sponge in hot water and wetting the concave side. Then put weights on it and let it dry in the sun. Do it again if necessary and you should get a flat board. I think the boards I received comply with the written descriptions of them. The photos of blemishes free boards are misleading, although most of my boards were blemish free or had very small ones. The quality was as expected and the price was good. ... show more

  • Not good for laser cutting Not good for laser cutting
Size: 12" x 8", 1/8" thick Number of Items: 16
The boards fit nicely into a typical K40 cutting area. They engrave with a laser well. However, they do not cut well because there are numerous knots in the plywood core. See the photo where I stripped back the outer veneer to see why my pieces did not cut correctly in this spot. I wasted a lot of material but more importantly a lot of time with many engraved items that failed to cut properly and had to be redone because of the inconsistencies in the core. I went through to packages of material and both packages had this problem. Also FYI I have found that the laser engraving is usually darker on one side than the other, and I could not predict which, so I start by doing a small test engraving in an otherwise empty space on each side and choosing the side that has better contrast. ... show more
