  • Truly the most comfortable and adjustable straps I've tried
I have other pairs of similar straps for securing a dumbbell to your foot for leg raises, etc., and my complaint about those others was that when trying to use them without shoes, they were stiff and uncomfortable, and not adjustable to a small enough size. These are the straps I've been waiting for. They have a different kind of strap material that is softer, more pliable and comfortable, and a different kind of velcro that feels more secure. The straps are wider, and have a wide range of adjustability. That means that when I'm doing floor work in stocking feet, I don't have to go find a pair of shoes before I can strap some dumbbells on my feet. These adjust down to about 8 inches around the instep, or about 12 inches around for shoes. The heel straps allow for moving the instep strap forward or back to help accommodate various sizes. Photos show the same strap around a size 8 very narrow foot in socks, and a size 11 high-instep foot in a shoe. The single strap for securing the dumbbell works great and simplifies everything. There are extra neoprene pads under the hardware, adding comfort and making them usable in the presence or absence of footwear. Comfort and secure adjustable fit, the most important functions of ankle straps like this; these are the first I have found that manage to do both. There's a sequence of photos in this listing that show how to put them on, and a helpful little video showing step by step along with some exercises to get you started. ... show more

  • Needs instructions
I'm a relatively well-educated individual with a good deal of experience with practical, real-world problem-solving. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to put these bloody things on. Instructions would be great for us clueless idiots. Here's the key: attach the dumbbell first, strap to your ankle second. After that, it's fairly clear what strap goes where. As far as the actual utilization of this equipment, I'm not terribly impressed. Maybe I used dumbbells that were too heavy (8 lb neoprene-covered), but even strapped as tightly as this thing will allow, they still wanted to shift to one side. I wonder if maybe a lighter weight wouldn't be quite as inclined to shift, but so far, I'm not terribly impressed. ... show more

  • No Instructions, but easy to use
The packaging came without instructions, but once you figure out the arrangement of the straps, you will not need to adjust them much. I found the only strap that I need to interact with day-to-day is the top of the foot, so you basically just have to slide your heel/foot into the setup and buckle the top. I am an 8W, the length of the straps are generous enough to allow larger foot/shoe sizes or even different types of weights. The Velcro is nice quality and will not stick to anything other than itself (no ruined fabrics!). I did find that the dumbbell shifted as I moved, which wasn't ideal, but not a problem. I would recommend these, if you are looking for a way to mix-up your weight training. ... show more

  • Needs instructions
Got these to add resistance to my side lying leg lifts. The straps are very soft and pliable. The velcro is super sticky and holds fast. They fit in my bag easily and don't take up much space compared to other foot attachments for dumbbells that are hard plastic. I tested it out on a 2lb weight so I'm not sure how heavy I can go with these. They were very confusing to figure out without instructions but I made do with the "4 Steps to Wear" part of the listing. I figured it out, but I feel like it shouldn't have taken me that long to figure out. I would recommend! ... show more

  • Well made but no instructions and I couldn't get them to tighten firmly on dumbbells
They are soft and nicely made but I couldn't get them to wrap tightly around a dumbbell. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but in the absence of any instructions in the box I don't know. I prefer ankle weights, which fit tightly and have the advantage that they don't put anything over the bottom of your foot, so you can walk or use your feet for support. With these, if you're doing a standing exercise like knee raises, you can only put the weight on one foot (while you stand on the other foot) and then have to remove the weight and put it on the other foot to work out the other leg. I suppose that this might allow you to use dumbbells that are heavier than ankle weights, but I don't think most people would want to do that. ... show more

  • Finally, A Great Fit
I’ve tried several similar items over the years, and never had great luck. They never fully secure the weight and without that the exercises targeting small hip flexor muscles are largely useless as you have to use larger muscles to stabilize. These are so adjustable and secure I can accurately target the small muscles I need to train to keep my pelvis and back properly aligned. They’re fantastic and I highly recommend. ... show more
