This car is spectacular. It works super well, super maneuverable, fast, agile and super silent. The battery is eternal, we have had several sessions of more than an hour and on no occasion has the first battery run out (it comes with two). The oil suspension is amazing. It is very resistant and has withstood knocks very well, obviously it has suffered scratches from strong knocks as it is not indestructible, but until now it continues to work perfectly. Kid loves it! Enough said....almost... I've ordered 2. Initial one was for me but a while later we had to get a second one so we can both run them around. They're quick, tough, and a lot of fun. We haven't jumped them or anything yet. Parts seem readily available for the most part. Only real issue is limited battery size. That's all so far. Still allows for a decent amount of fun. Looking at getting faster charger and maybe a few more batteries. I do plan on upgrading mine similar to Derby City RC on yt (check him out. Good stuff. Tell him Badtolz2122 sent ya. Great review and mod videos of this car on there) to allow for 3s, better shocks, and bigger tires. That will be some time later though. For now, I just love playing with my kid. It often goes on sale for 120, not much less that I've noticed. Great little car for the price. ... show more

Bought this car for our friends son who we have every weekend n he loves it the car goes super fast n it's made very well with good parts. Couldn't see the use in paying for walmart junk so decided to get him a good car. Well worth ur money n high recommended for rc fans

This HBX is the perfect size for where I live and what I like to do. Gets around awesome on most terrains, and is very customizable. I must say that, in stock form, it feels slow if you’re used to brushless rigs. But it’s perfect for starting out or for younger crowds. It’s also perfect for upgrading to your own brushless system, as the driveline already has all the upgrades necessary to handle brushless power. The front, center and rear differentials, in particular, are very stout, work great, and can really take a beating. Also, the seller is fantastic, and Haiboxing really stands behind their products and goes above and beyond to help and make things right! I will say the only drawback to this platform is the center drive shaft - it doesn’t use pins, but is hex shaped and is mated to drive pinions via a hex slot. Eventually the hex shaft wears down and rounds out, and you get slippage. It takes a long time though. A pinned center shaft would solve this - something HBX should look into. If you are creative you can also solve this on your own, or just buy a new one now and then. This is a relatively minor gripe. One other slight drawback is the lack of aftermarket parts support from third parties. Would be nice if some parts suppliers jumped in with HBX. The HBX 2996a is the same platform (not currently available on Amazon) and is currently my favorite RC (and I have many that retail for 500 or more). The media could not be loaded. This is a great car to get started with for anyone interested in this size of RC car. It’s just over a foot long and is best suited outdoors in a backyard at the very least. I took it out into gravel, dirt, light sand, and grass, and it pretty much tackled everything with ease aside from the grass, which will probably get your motor pretty hot. Tires are very grippy, and there are 2 spares included in total. One is mounted on the car, and one is included in a separate bag. The batteries did last a good 20+ mins when I took it easy on the car. When I pushed it a bit more, I was still able to get close to 20 mins. The only complaints I have about this package are the connectors that are used and the quality of the included charger. The Deans style connector that the car and batteries use is tough to separate, especially if you are prone to hand pain. This was easily remedied by replacing the connectors on the car and batteries with an XT60 connector, which is great and rated up to 60 amps. The charger that is included charges via USB through the balance connector on the battery. While sitting on my desk undisturbed, it decided to die on me just before I was able to charge my 4th battery on it. That’s it. Got about 4 uses out of it before it died. I’d strongly suggest picking up an actual proper charger alongside this car. Other than that, it’s been tons of fun so far and I can’t really complain. I’m new to the RC hobby and have been flying FPV drones for the last year before getting into RC cars. Strongly recommend this for the price point. ... show more

    • It Has a Speed Controller Where You can Make it Slower for a Smaller Child on the Remote.
I was Looking For an Rc for My 5 Year old Niece, Everything else is was too fast as She is throttle Heavy with very little turning skills. I had been looking for an Rc with the feature to limit the speed and was surprised that this wasnt a feature on all Rc cars. Some cars have the 70% to 100% but are still way too fast so Image My Pleasant Surprise when i turned the switch down and the cars speed Decreased Dramatically. I love the Design, Th body is Sturdy and Detailed with Lights not just a Plastic Cover. It is Literally everything I wanted it to be and More. ... show more

    • Great RC with potential to upgrade!
My son wanted an RC for Christmas. I ended up purchasing two of these and we have absolutely loved them. It's a lot of fun in stock form but a ton of fun to upgrade. Shout out to Derby City RC on YouTube for the lead! I've kept one stock and the other I've upgraded with a HobbyWing motor and ESC, bigger tires, and new receiver. The thing is an absolute beast! Haiboxing support is very responsive and easy to work with to find and get replacement parts. The battery compartment can be a little tight but not an issue especially if you are wanting to mod anyways. If you're looking to get into RC trucks this is the best bang for your buck you're gonna find! ... show more
