As a great-grandma, one of my joys is looking at and acquiring new toys for my two little great-grandsons, 2 and 5. I usually keep them at my home in my toybox for their use when they come to visit. I saw this beautifully colored amphibious remote control car at a great price. It lights up, flips over, spins--literally does everything but mow the lawn--and is WATERPROOF and intended to be used as an amphibious car! Wow! That was a no brainer. The remote uses AA batteries, as does the "watch," (which also controls movement), with the car being rechargeable. This is a fairly large, sturdy and strong toy--very important when the people using it are two wild little boys and their dad! I had it unboxed and batteries installed for their last visit, and Dad took them outside for a trial run. He had it figured out quickly. The 5-year old learned from Dad, quickly. The little guy needed help. They ran it all over the yard, tumbled it, and then decided they needed to check out the amphibious qualities, so using the hose and a shallow drainage ditch, made a small pond. Wow! They LOVED it, and insisted on "borrowing" it for a while to use in the large wading pool in their back yard. The car seems very well made and suitable for fairly rough play. The materials used appear well placed and durable. The little guys and Dad loved it, obviously, and after three weeks it is still operating and running well! That in itself is a testament! This would make a great gift for any child, and is a hoot to use and play with for adults, too!
