There’s no set up time for this set of dumbbells. Once the box is open you are pretty much ready to go. The polystyrene packing, the plastic page and a couple of ties are all that stands between you and a very serious workout. Nested or adjustable dumbbells have been the trend for home gyms for more than a decade. But the problem with most systems are either they are difficult to adjust – pins to pull, careful alignments to be made before each use – or they don’t have great hand feel; nest brick systems for example. This system looks like, feels like, and handles like a regular pair of dumbbells. Any exercise you’d do at a commercial gym with dumbbells you can do with these – flies, rows, presses, concentration curls, triceps extensions, etc – and change weight quickly. The big test I put dumbbells through is to see if I can cause a plate to slip or a locking mechanism to fail during a workout. I could not get this one to fail. The worst I could manage was to get it to hesitate in its dial settings while selecting the weight I wanted. Even that I could only get it to do a few times. So, cranking the handles back and forth between different settings, using high impact exercises, speeding through sets I experienced no failures and had a very good workout. Price ( 189) sets these in the premium class. They are more affordable than a number of big name stack weights, performance is as good as or better than the more expensive ones. This is for the person who is serious about their workout, who is looking to avoid injuries and maintain strength for the duration.

This is a great fitness product...Adjustable pair of 25 pound dumbbells that adjust down to 20 pounds, 15 pounds, 10 pounds, 5 pounds just by turning the handle. The product comes well packaged in a box which weighs 50-75 pounds with base. The product requires minimal set up and is ready to go. The dumbbells are quality made and fit easily and snap into the base. They look nice and professionally made. Change the weight by turning the handle grip clockwise until the new weight amount clicks into place. Very simple to use and they work great. Overall, this is a nice set of adjustable weight dumbbells that is great for home fitness use. Thank you!

The media could not be loaded. At first these were working fine, but after about a month of light use, during one of my workouts, one of the weights fell off! At first I just figured it was because they had slightly bumped into each other, so I figured the impact just knocked the weight off, so i put the weight back on and kept working out. But, during my workout today, it happened again. This time, the weights didn't touch each other, no sudden movements, it just fell off....and I was laying on the ground with the weights over my head when it did, and the weight just barely missed falling right on my face. i tired putting the weight back on this time, but now they are off balance. When I turn the handle to pick a weight, there's a different amount of weights on each side.. Bottom line, these things are DANGEROUS!!!! Unfortunatley I just missed the return date. I would avoid these!

These are great. I really like the compact design so it takes up a lot less floor space compared to a couple of sets of typical dumbbells. The click to grab mechanism works fine and the "plates" do not move around as you change attitude on the bar. Having the option of 2 sizes to choose from is great so you don't have to get the heavy set if you don't need them.

Very slick design. Comfortable to use. Weight range is great. Placing dumbell back in the tray after a session can be mildly annoying at first but it just takes a couple uses to get familiar. Really cool product. Well made.

Honestly, I was a little nervous about these due to cheap price, but they're good quality. I have used them to work out a few times and it's solid, smooth changing between weights. I cannot really complain about anything as of yet. Exactly as pictured. They come fully assembled and ready to go. Purchasing a set or two of these saves you a ton of money versus buying sets of standard dumbbells.
