I dabble in various crafts but return to cross stitch semi regularly. The hoops can be a bit annoying so I was curious about stretcher bars. This is a pretty versatile set. I loved how many sizes of frame I could create with the bars provided. The pieces seem to be well made, I had no issues with getting the various bars to interlock and stay together. It does require a little bit of force to put them together but nothing excessive. The bars themselves work well. The wood is unfinished but I did not get any splinters while handling them bare handed. I didn’t quite get the beauty of the tack remover at first but was very glad they included afterwards. My biggest gripe is the tacks themselves. I found them to be half useless since the pins would bend easily or start punching through the white tops. It was hard to get my Aida cloth stretched tightly while fighting with them. Fortunately, this is probably the easiest component to replace with better tacks or possibly staples. Considering the cost of various hoop/frame options and comparable products, this is a good to average value. Not a screaming deal for a set of stretcher bars but not notably higher priced than the similar listings I’ve seen. ... show more

I am very pleased with the high quality of this wooden stretcher set. It is exactly as described. The cut and quality of the wooden pieces are excellent and each is sanded smooth. They fit well together. The set also includes a box of push pins and a push pin removal tool. In addition to needlepoint and embroidery it can be used to stretch and mount canvas artwork.
