Lower rating for sturdiness just because it is balsa wood which is not the sturdiest of materials. I make model railroad and RPG terrain and this selection of balsa is great for the finishing details on my projects.

This is a delicate easily broken piece of wood.but great on filling in gaps to a wooden projects , so if that is what you intend to do. The reviews I read didn’t specifically says it’s for what usage. Yet I was able to use them and made it sturdier by applying mod podge glue or any paper glue on the wood stick finished project .

at best the sticks are worth [ .25¢ ] at best ... this is a complete rip off !!! just tiny, very skinny balsa sticks . . . not regulation size for any model building [ should you use these sticks ] the size of tooth picks !!! THE MODEL WILL FALL APART !!! Ashamed of Amazon for selling this CHINESE GARBAGE !!!
