After scouring through countless different tool kit options, I rested on this. It was a gift for my daughter as she headed off to college. One of the best things I've ever received was a set of tools from my father when I was very young - I still use it today! Being a hands-on fellah, my tool collection has grown extensively over the years and I kept that in-mind while shopping for this kit. I feel it has a well-rounded offering of necessary starter tools for living life. Hammer and pliers and drivers - Oh my! Cutter and scissors and sockets - Oh my! It's got a tape measure, combination wrenches, hex wrenches, channel locks, a level, mini screw drivers - a whole load of stuff. It's even got some screws if you need them. I purchased this toolkit for my grandson who recently turned 16 and has taken an interest in taking things apart. My goal was to provide him with the tools to possibly also put things back together using his own tools. I personally think it's an excellent starter kit for a young person who needs to have, use and take care of their own tools. And at a good price! It's also not so large it couldn't be tucked into a trunk or possibly under a seat in a vehicle, as you never know when you might be somewhere and need a tool. It was a very well received gift. Overall, I was happy with the set. Most of the tools are solid. A few keep falling out of the plastic holders, while some feel impossible to unseat. The screwdrivers have oversized, oval-ish shaped handles, which are uncomfortable to use. However, compared to the cheaper, Harbor Freight version, these are far superior. Purchased this set for my kid as she was moving into an apartment. We used it regularly and for different occasions. It has everything you need! The one draw back is that some of the tools fall out from their clamp when you open it. I'm used to this as most of my tool sets do the same...it's just a little annoying. ... show more

I'm handy around the house, but I'm not a contractor or into heavy construction. I've used about half of the tools in this set, and all of them performed as I expected. Tools feel good in my hands and solid enough to get the jobs done. I'm happy with this set.
