I don't know much about magnification but seem powerful to me. These are light - weight but doesn't feel like I'm holding a toy. Crystal clear view. Would defiantly recommended. Great price for these! BTW, I don't spend time reviewing stuff unless I really like it.

These are a nice set of 20x50 binoculars that come with attached lens covers so you will not loose them. The set has a rubberized coating that gives it a nice, comfortable firm feel. They also comes with a strap, lens cloth and carry case. There is also a set of rather general instructions that do not necessarily apply to this unit as it talks about folding lens cups that these do not have. Visually the view is bright and very clear giving good resolution and color fidelity. Daytime viewing was very good with birds and my sheep easy to observe. Night viewing of the moon was also good the crescent moon was bright with craters visible along the terminator and earthshine visible on the unlit part, these outperformed my 10x30 binoculars. There was however some reflection but not to bad. Star colors where good with no visible chromatic aberration. For a set of 20x50 binos they are quite light this is probably because plastic is used in a lot of the construction so I am not sure how they will hold up in the long run. I know some people just want the best of everything, but I have settled on the "best" for me. This is not the best for those wanting HIGH, high power. But, if you are just wanting a pair to watch the birds in your backyard feeder or take a look out on the water on your cruise, then this is the "best" for you! I think they're totally awesome, as I don't really know what "better" would include. This pair includes lens covers and a bag to carry the binoculars in. Really everything you need. I have even used them to look up at the night sky. If you just want a decent pair of binoculars, these are great! ... show more

At this price point I didn't expect a fantastic pair...and true, this might not be something I'd bring on a safari. But for everyday use (hikes in the area, keeping an eye on the nest of birds near my back deck, etc.) these are far better than the pocket-sized pair I had before. Took a bit of effort to set up for my eyes (lots of tweaks to the sizing and optics) but now that I've gotten everything set up to my expectations, I'm very satisfied. ... show more
