  • Dusty but good.
Size: 1/4 inch Color: 20QT
Definitely a lot of dust but overall pretty good. Buy a cheap kitchen strainer and you can wash off a lot of the dust.

  • STOP using perlite, use this Pumice instead!!!
Size: 3/8 inch Color: 8QT
I prefer Pomus over perlite for the environmental factor. Perlite is man-made and has a large carbon footprint, is made from things that are harmful for the environment, it is not biodegradable. Pumice was created by nature in nature and is still just nature when you’re done with it. I feel like it also adds a lot more aeration and drainage to my plants. It’s much better in the long run than perlite. It’s also reusable, it lasts a very long time, you can sterilize it, it doesn’t break down and compress like perlite can. This is a great size for plants that like a chunky mix. I use it in place of Lecca also. Love it! The drainage if these bigger chunks is awesome! I adore it in pebble trays as more surface area means more evaporation. I feel it raises the humidity a lot faster around the plants than regular pebbles. You do need to rinse it really well I just throw it in a 5 gallon bucket use the hose. I would highly recommend this product everyone. ... show more

  • Decent product but incredibly dirty and full of debris
Size: 1/2 inch Color: 8QT
This pumice is actually a very nice size and generally a decent quality. It is, however, unbelievably dirty and required multiple rinses to clean it. Also contained charcoal bits which are not uncommon in mining but usually these are cleaned before the product is offered for horticultural use. I also found a cigarette butt in mine. That was disgusting. I really hope the seller can find a way to get a cleaner product with less debris. All that said, I will be using it so there's that. ... show more

  • Good buy
Size: 1/4 inch Color: 20QT
Good drainage, just got a clean or wash if you want all the dust gone.

  • LOTS of cleaning required! - Absolutely terrible quality.
Size: 1/4 inch Color: 20QT
Why did you pick this product vs others?: It was the right size for my purpose (APL Bonsai mix), offered a good price for the quantity, & I was forced to order off Amazon due to the pumice shortage in my area - No one had the right size granules in the qty I needed. Drainage: Will turn to cement unless you rinse it about 1,000 times .. I had to spend WAY too much time rinsing and cleaning to render this garbage even remotely usable. The photos show the cement sludge that will clog your roots and pot drainage if not rinsed through properly. All that sludge is from rinsing only about a half gallon of material. You can imagine the entire 20qt batch. Ridiculous. Appearance: Lots of fines / lots of random debris amidst the pumice I had to sift out. I'd skip purchasing this at all costs, despite the price. It's 100% not worth the time and effort it takes to clean. Highly recommend going with a cleaner alternative - I will never buy from this supplier again. ... show more

  • Right size for Pot Size
Size: 1/2 inch Color: 20QT
For larger pots ~5" Plus, soil amendment, Pumice is better, will last longer than Perlite, but Pumice is a little more water retentive than Perlite. Vermiculite is very water retentive. Not for Cacti or Succulents. 3/8 size Pumice for pots 7" and less is good choice.

  • Organic Pumice, Great Price
Size: 3/8 inch Color: 20QT
I would definitely buy these again. I purchased both the 3/8” and 1/4” pumice, this review is for both. Very basic packaging but functional, I use my own containers anyways. No unpleasant odor, true to size, great mixture and texture, very few non-rock “debris,” slightly damp/minimal dust. I didn’t wash the pumice, so the dust is just another soil additive. Pic 1: 3/8” after delivery, OVER 20qt! Pic 2: sieved pumice into 3/8” 20qt tote and 0.39” 12qt tote. Pic 3: non-rock “debris.” Pic 4: 1/4” after delivery, slight over 20qt. Pic 5: sieved pumice into 1/4” 20qt tote and 0.39” 6.8qt tote. Pic 6: non-rock “debris.” Because of the mixed reviews, I decided I had the time and wanted to give my perspective. While I do not want to dismiss other people’s experiences, maybe they got bad batches? Anyhoos, I will be buying this again. Thanks so much! ^_^ ... show more

  • Dusty & unattractive
Size: 1/4 inch Color: 20QT
It’s ok. Color is an unattractive dull grey but my bigger issue was the amount of fines. Even after sifting, the grains were still coated with was my 2nd order, first one wasn’t this bad but I’m going back to my old source. Maybe the larger the bulk, the more dust? 🤷🏼♀️ but I’m over it. As far as how it works, yeah it’s pumice so it does the job. If you don’t mind a lot of sifting & washing, and use a top dressing, maybe you’ll be happy with it. ... show more
