We have started purchasing a good majority of their vegetables to use instead of purchasing them in store. They actually taste much better than the frozen ones. The cost turned out to be much lower also and no freezing or refrigeration needed. $174.20 total cost for 281 servings vegetable servings, 38 burger mix servings, 66 orange juice drinks, 20 apple slice servings, 18 potato slice servings. We are getting more items. We shouldn't have to purchase any vegetables etc. for the rest of the year. Then we will start getting our supply for next year since their shelf life is great when unopened. ... show more

    • Freeze Dried Apple Slices, undamaged can, decent price.
These are simply freeze-dried slices of apples. Very similar to what you would buy in the snack section of the grocery store. They come in a #10 can, which refers to the size of the can (approximately 1 gallon) and NOT to the amount of food in the can. For that, just refer to the net weight of the product. I haven't opened this particular can yet, but I'm assuming it's like other cans that I've opened in the past. There will be some space that isn't occupied by freeze-dried apple slices, which is to be expected. Most of these freeze-dried food companies will use a single size can for a wide variety of products. Much cheaper for them. They don't have to buy different machines for different sizes of cans, they don't have to have line switch-over time to change can size, etc. So, the result is that not each can will be packed full of whatever product. The cost is mostly in the food itself, so if you wanted everything to be brimming over with the food, the price would be a lot higher. Anyway, the apples taste good and store well. I rotate my cans out of storage and in to use whenever I find them on sale. That way, the storage cans are always fresh. ... show more
