Needed a replacement for my 8-10 year old MacBook that served me well. Seeing the cost of brand new ones was a bit of a shock - so I started looking at these refurbished/renewed on Amazon. This one pretty much matches my older one as far as basic specs, with some newer/nicer features. When I opened the box I didn't know what to expect, but it was pretty much a brand new computer as far as I could tell. The condition was clean/excellent and I feel like the value for what I spent was a total score. The battery on this has been great, along with the nicer display (slightly bigger). The performance is far better than my older one as well as the speed. The sound quality is better than my older one, better speaker technology probably. The ports are better too, I prefer the magnetic connection - plus a dedicated port for power. I won't be putting this computer through as much "punishment" as the last one, so hoping to get another 8-10 years??? It has all the ports I need, plus an HDMI and SD card reader that I didn't have on the last one. I would definitely look into getting another refurb/renew MacBook here on Amazon, great selection and prices - and for what I paid, feels like a "brand new" computer! It was expensive for my budget, but very much needed as old one was getting worn out and didn't want a dead computer revival. :) **SIDE NOTE: If transferring from old MacBook, I suggest getting the Thunderbolt 5 Apple cable ($$!) to help speed up that transfer. What would have been hours and hours, was only about 20/30 minutes. Expensive cable it is, but worth it if you don't want to spend hours waiting/watching. Plus, the cable is nice for new display/screens - not able to test that yet (Display$$$$!). But I did connect my phone for the back up and speedy it is. ... show more

Highly recommend this laptop. The charge cycle count was only at 6, battery was still 100, so this purchase was a win win in my eyes. Aesthetics were near perfect, I'd say as close to new as you can get. My only qualm is that my maybe "fat fingers" get type errors much more easily than my Windows 11/LG Gram. Simes sensitivity is the issue but I can live with it, just a pain when typing and the cursor jumps or bounces to another area and my typing gets inserted in strange locations. ... show more

There is no warranty and you CAN NOT buy Applecare on this computer. The computer itself, is great. Fast, bright, excellent clarity. Battery life is the best I have ever seen by an order of magnitude. But some comments suggested you could buy Applecare and it is not eligible.

I'm a huge tech geek, so I did all the research before purchasing this for my daughter's senior year of college, and she is absolutely thrilled with it! This is a really solid laptop. We opted for the 16-inch screen, as she wanted a larger display for her work. The performance is excellent. I felt the price was fair and competitive with PC laptops offering the same specs. Since SSDs are becoming cheaper and larger, the 512GB storage size was perfectly adequate. The only thing is that the storage is not really 512 , is actually 492 , but other than that, everything work fine so far , the battery very good , the speaker is good too , haven’t tested video editing software on it yet but i think it will handle it , and there’s no scratch on mine .
