I know it was not intended for warming water pool still i gave it a try. I covered the pool and use the immersion water heater and it warm the water for short period of time. Built looks heavy duty and will last . Over all we love it. Kids are happy .

    • Temperature sensor needs to be specifically placed.

Works great. The only thing I noticed that should be addressed when using this is the placement of the temperature sensor. Since the only way the water can circulate is by convection, it is important to have the temperature sensor placed in a spot where it will take advantage of this movement. You do not want the sensor low in the corner of the bucket, as this area is likely to remain cooler while the rest of the volume heats up. This could potentially allow the fluid to overheat. I have found good success with getting accurate temperature readings by placing the temp sensor so it is roughly between the center of the water column and the outside of interior wall of the vessel; not directly above the heater itself and well off the bottom. Used this twice and it got so hot that it sparked and burnt the metal rod and burnt the heating element and coil. Very very unsafe. Good thing there wasn’t a fire.

I love this product it makes the water nice and warm in our pool! It’s important to remember that no one is in the pool while heating, and keep it away from the liner ! Very easy to use, just turn it on and let it halfway submerge.
