Im not sure of why anyone else would get this obnoxiously sized ball. It sits there waiting to fall or kids to pick it up and give you a mild heart attack holding it over a sibling's head. I got it to use as an example of mass (more specifically the weight of my 3d printer bed). It is just as awesome as it looks, only bigger. It is the literal diameter as stated in the description. It is slightly out of round if you use a micrometer or if you put it in the biggest ball bearing ever. Tldr if you are looking for this ball it is as cool as it gets, if you are late night amazon scrolling... Just kidding I don't tell people what to do. ... show more

One star off because of the way they were packed. They were packed so they rubbed against each other during the trip and we're slightly scuffed because of it. They put both of them in one bubble bag which makes no sense because they bump into each other inside the bag. I put some metal polish on them and stuck them in a towel like a hammock and polished them like you do with a bowling ball. Fortunately, the scuffs were buffed out. I figured these would work great for a light workout everyday for the shoulders and arms, and they do. These are much more convenient than swinging dumbbells around, and 4 pounds or so, each, is enough for me at 64. It gives you a harder workout than you would initially think. They're great for lateral raises and rotational exercises. You can do anything with 3" steel balls that you can do with dumbbells, but you don't have to deal with the awkward bulk of a dumbbell. Hello it is right there in the palm of your hand. Of course, you're not going to build much mass with 4 lb, but it's good for toning. Its certainly better than sitting on the couch and becoming a potato, or more of a potato than you already are. My wife can use my balls to get a bit of a workout too if she wants. Lol ... show more

These a solid. I have not put them on a micrometer as I don’t need them that precise and won’t be measuring them. So if you’re in need of solid bearing balls this size, these are it.
