According to the instructions, these vests, which come in green or blue, are not life jackets, but rather a "buoyancy compensator device", that will NOT protect one from drowning ("Well, why even bother?" pipes up Queen Rutabaga, "If you drown, who will fill my bowl and clean my catpan?" I answered her not to worry, that the listing refers to them as "Portable Swim Vest Jackets, Adjustable Kayaking Jackets Safety Vests for Swimming Surfing"; I have no intention of drowning in a small reservoir while wearing an inflatable vest and attached by a leash to an inflatable paddleboard, for surely that requires the additional factor of epic stupidity!) Mollified, the Queen has permitted me to continue my review. I like the bright, translucent lime shade of the vest, and it's so easy to blow up that a hamster with good lips could probably do it. It features a waist strap and a crotch strap (the latter, going by a visual assessment, may be more comfortably worn, perhaps even enjoyed, by members of the female gender, than by men and boys). BTW, Queen Rutabaga, having inspected the equipment, concurs that the vests are adequate for my purpose, but recommends against using them for cats! ... show more

I got the blue ones. They are perfect to take to the beach and on a cruise (I prefer mine or off shore). Instruction is good. Just followed it. Vest fits perfectly.
