Speaking from experience using this product for leveling and setting posts in the ground, I can only recommend this product as an aid as you are getting a couple of posts set up. With the way extruded or plain wood can come from the store these days it is often difficult to get these things to mount on the post so as to be truly flush against the side. Even with the built- in band aid. Especially if you are going to set a post in concrete, strongly advise use a 3 or 4' long level in your final step fine tuning the post's position, just prior to pouring/backfilling. So I would say up until that point this product is pretty useful. Again, if you are really insisting on using these alone suggest using an adjustable plastic or metal clamp to ensure it is as flush as possible. ... show more

I installed 24 fence posts using both levels at the same time. They did the job fine but the bubbles make it hard to get a super accurate reading. I used a digital level to get the posts perfectly level.

    • Great for installing vertical posts
Worked well in setting up posts for new stairs and railing. Only bad thing is the rubber bands are not long enough to wrap around a 6x6 post, so had to tie two of them together. Plan on using these to install 4x4 posts for a new pergola. They are accurate, easy to use, and make the job easier.
