Hopefully it will last longer than 9 mos. A tip- to keep from having to guess on how far up the links to go to attach the clip to adjust closing speed, count the links on the chain, mine was 10, and attach on the exact same link. Majority of these chains are about the same length and it will cut down on guessing where to attach the clip so it will fall at the right time.
