These are pretty good. The difference between turning the knob for 'hard' or 'less hard' impact setting really doesn't do much. For really hard materials, these won't really do much for you. But as an OK automatic center punch, these are OK. A little pricey, but OK.

I am not a professional but do some handyman stuff around the house. I've never had a center punch before like this so decided to give it a try. I don't know why I'd never gotten something like this sooner. It's a great way to get a center punch in the material you may want to drill into so the bit can have a slight recession to rest in when starting to drill. Just position the tip where you want to drill and push the center punch until it snaps, then it will leave a slight divot for you to start drilling. Works great, comes in a 2 pack along with extra tips so it is a great value as well. ... show more
