I purchased these to improve the placement of the Base Stations for my Steam Index VR kit. Previously, they were just sitting on shelves, in apparently less-than-ideal spots for position tracking. These stands seem plenty sturdy enough for the job and are quite tall, allowing me to get these to a better height. These are even taller than a set of allegedly purpose-designed VR base station stands but significantly cheaper.

They seem relatively stable with the lights mounted, even with softboxes attached. I do not have a set studio to shoot in, so I carry my equipment on location. Bought these after returning another set of tripods that were advertised as VR mounts. These aren't advertises as VR mounts, but it comes with 2 tripods and 2 ball head joints. Perfect for mounting the base stations. Its a little wabbly at the top, but if you are renting, can't drill any holes in the walls, or travel a lot... these are amazing for the price and get the job done! 10/10 would recommend! :)

The best part of the tripods is that they are lightweight, compact, and come with bads. Whenever I am not using them, I can simply put them away. I have a small office, so making sure I don't have too much stuff in my office is important, and these are the perfect size. I also like how easy they slide when adjusting and they are easy to put together.

Light weight, light stand… Emphasis on light weight. I use them for my vr base stations that never move or need to be touched. They work great for that purpose. But I can totally sense these would be horrible for photographers and video people. They could easily break. Good for people who will put something up, that will not be touched and away from someone who might trip into it.
