Did not come with bracket to hold battery in place inside controller

Wider than the ones I had, which on my aftermarket controller causes them to hit the internal reset button. Because of the reset problem, I was unable to get these to actually work for me. After the reset both controllers have a problem with some buttons not working anymore. I can't exactly blame this product for my aftermarket controllers having an extra internal button. The Sony cell is the same physical size and probably would have been a problem too. Install is fiddly, you have to get everything held in place, the button springs in right, and then hold the battery and the wires all while trying to get the two halves of the shell together. Not easy, but doable. The cells even came with the right sized screwdriver which was nice. The weight is a good proxy for battery capacity and these are a mere 18 grams which matches the original Sony controllers, but is less than the 19 grams in the aftermarket controllers i was putting them in. These are marked 1800mAh yet weigh the same as the Sony cells marked 570mAh, so it seems unlikely that they are even close to the marked capacity.

so far so good the batteries are lasting about as long as when the controllers are were new. they were easy to install and came with a small screwdriver. id recommend this as a good battery for your ageing controllers.

No stand off to lock in place. They fit but not secure. They charge but should have just bought the new controller for similar price

I haven't tested the actual battery life yet, but mine came charged and the controller I repaired worked right away. I had purchased a controller with a dead battery that paired and worked while plugged in with a charging cable, but the battery would no longer hold a charge. Accidentally hitting the PS button while putting the controller back together with the new battery unit even turned my PS3 on from another room. While I didn't particularly need another screwdriver or cable, the fact that those are included, along with a little spudger tool, is nice. If you don't have these things but need to replace a battery, you at least get everything in one box. You could probably do without the spudger, but it doesn't hurt to have one just in case, and the screwdriver has a magnetized tip which is always a handy feature. (Yes, you can magnetize your own screwdrivers, but again, with this kit you don't need to do or have anything extra.) It's overall a good price for what you get, I just hope the battery ends up lasting as long as an original one did since I used to get really good battery life from PS3 controls before. In the past I've had to change other parts before the battery itself ever went bad.

I had noticed a long time ago that my controllers didn't seem to be lasting as long, so I ordered new ones from a 3rd party, and they seemed to be working OK. I honestly haven't played with my PS3 in ages, but even the new ones are quite old now so it's nice to have some spare batteries for when I finally need to replace them. I really hadn't thought much about just replacing the batteries LOL, but when I saw these, I had to have them. I popped one open and checked it out for the review, and they look identical, except for the stickers of course, but they're the same size and fit into the little brackets the same way. The connectors are identical as well so these are perfect. They must be the same technology, probably LiPo, so I expect to get many more years out of these just like the originals. The price was not too bad either, thank you for the product, and the screwdriver and extra charging cord, that was a thoughtful addition.
