At around a $1.50 a pound for this set that is a pretty amazing price. So all in all these are good weights to buy I gave 5 stars because the value for what you get is very good even taking into account the unpleasant aspects of them. I haven't weighed them all yet but the ones I did were pretty accurate. They look decent although on the the 15's I received the lettering is inconsistent in coloring , it is really light in some places. These are not on the par with my rogue competition chrome hub bumpers obviously, however they look good even though they have some imperfections like I had a plate with the green stripe glued in a little crooked and hanging out of the slot. I trimmed it with a sharp knife and it looks fine now. There are a few edges I drag trimmed that were a little sharp I waited over a month to review these for one reason , The awful smell! I initially bought a set of 20's as a test before buying the set as I hate that nasty rubber smell. The 20's after I unboxed them they smelled a little. I put them in the bathtub as I always do with new bumpers , washed them with some mister clean, and they didnt smell any worse than some of my other plates . I recommend doing this outside if possible. The slickness washes off pretty well . I have to put my nose right up to them to smell anything much like my 5 year old rep plates. So I bought a 160 lb set as I have enough heavier plates and wanted the smaller ones. I unpacked them and OMG they stunk! My gym is in my living space across the hall from my bedroom so when I first got them I could smell them from my bedroom doorway. Since the month has passed most of them calmed down and you have to directly sniff them to get the strong smell. One set however , a set of 30's, I can still smell from about 3 feet away. If you have a garage gym or outdoor gym this isn't probably much of an issue for you but in your living space it may be, but with time the smell seems to dissipate. Tips- unpack and wash them outside if possible. Get rid of the packaging as soon as you can , it stinks. If you can leave them in a non living space to air out.

Got these plates on sale for around $1 per lb, which is pretty good for a rubber bumper plate so my expectations where not super high. Received the plates faster than I anticipated and all arrived in one delivery (although two separate boxes). Boxes were a little beat up but product was fine. I have already used them several times and so far they seem to be of good enough quality that they will last for years. As far as drawbacks/cons, if you are used to using rubber coated plates with a "handle" integrated into them these plates (at least the 45 lbs anyway) are a bit cumbersome. Even after whipping off the thin film of oil that seemed to coat them all, loading the barbell for squats took a little bit more effort than Im used to as the plates are smooth and somewhat slippery. The heavy plates (25lb+) are quite thick (as they should be) but the 10Lbs is comparatively very thin and I would hesitate to drop these with any serious force.

This is a great economical set of bumper plates; you're not going to find a better price for colored bumpers anywhere. The bushings seem secure and the plates have a good bounce to them, so you know that they're absorbing some of the force of impact, as they should. They aren't perfect, though. There are some cosmetic issues. You can see from the pics I put up there is some flashing on a few of the plates and beveling in some areas of one that looks like it was gouged slightly to remove flashing, or not enough rubber was injected into the mold. It's a negligible amount that won't affect the weight or balance in any discernable way. The plates that look orange on the site look quite a bit more pink to me IRL and there is also a small bit of discoloration on one of the plates. When removing then from their plastic, there is a slight odor that you'll be familiar with if you've ever been around newly processed rubber. There is also a thin oily coating on the plates when you take them out. None of these are real problems, though. The odor will eventually disappate, the oil comes off easily with a shop towel, the flashing will probably fall off on it's own from use or can easily be removed with careful use of a carving knife or small pair of scissors. I also don't care that a couple of the plates look kind of pink. It's still a five star set. The only caveat I will leave you with is this: this is a new purchase for me. I can't make any comment on the long-term durability of them. If they do have problems, I'll post an update. Until then, I wholly recommend getting them.
