It isn’t the sturdiest but doable. I have an old dog with bad back legs. That’s the reason I got it. The side rails have all either broke or fallen out. That has caused my dog to fall off the side of the steps and get stuck. The only thing holding the steps is a thin metal bar that can bend out of place. The wood isn’t the strongest for a big dog. Mine is a lab size. He does use it but I can tell he doesn’t trust it. I would not buy this again for him or a big dog. I do like being able to fold it up easily. It looks better than it performs.

I ordered this attractive, sturdy SUPLAERKA Dog Ramp 2-in-1 with 4 Removable Guardrails because our 12-year-old toy poodle, and our almost nine-year-old small terrier are beginning to find the jump up to the bed a bit difficult. This will solve that problem very nicely! The Dog Ramp is made of a very good quality ¾" whitewood plywood. There are eleven layers plus the two outer whitewood veneers. The plywood is VERY precisely cut, and sanded to perfection. I did not spot a single void in the plywood anywhere. This is some good stuff. The ramp/steps are covered in black carpeting. It is quite ingenious how this design adjusts for various heights, and how it converts from a ramp to a set of gentle steps. Your dog can choose which method he prefers! I'm thinking that the steps will be more accessible for our small mutts. The side (guard) rails are easily assembled, and could even be left off if desired. The mounting holes are predrilled very precisely, and all you have to do is insert two sturdy dowels per rail unit. They fit quite tightly, but if you were concerned, you could use a dab of white glue on both ends of each dowel to hold them in place permanently. I am very pleased with this convertible dog ramp / dog steps! I recommend it!

It’s cheaply made not sturdy at all! My dogs (chihuahua and pug) won’t use the ramp they can’t grasp the slippery fabric. The stairs are very awkward so I can’t get them up the stairs! Waste of money but we threw away the box, so I can’t return it. It’s a pain in the butt to return.

I acquired this dog ramp to provide access in/out of a puppy whelping space (baby swimming pool) so that the puppies can move back and forth between the larger play area and the pool where they sleep. We will install it when they are 4-5 weeks old. I put a second, smaller ramp for inside the pool, and this UPLAERKA 2-in-1 will connect to it so the puppies can walk down to the floor level outside their whelping pen / pool. I knew that the side rails would be useless for the little puppies. They will fall right through them, so I don't plan to use them as they are described as optional. For my situation, that's ok because we put a cushioned pad under the ramp if a pup falls off the side. I also won't need it to be extended to its greatest height of 24" but rather keep it at its lowest incline option above flat. As someone who uses a wheelchair and who is familiar with the ADA slope requirements for access ramps, I can say that rising 24" within 39" length seems like a very steep slope. Of course, dogs have four legs so I'm not comparing apples to apples, but if this is to serve a geriatric dog with joint issues, it might be a bit steep of a slope for some dogs to handle. For the price I wish the plywood material was painted or sealed in some way so that it's easier to wipe off, if necessary. I also wonder if it will support a 200 pound dog. The carpet doesn't seem to have a lot of traction, even though it claims it does. I don't think I would recommend this dog ramp to other shoppers.
