    • Not really a "safe" but a nice, compact "lock box"
I am really tired of companies calling things "safes" when they do not have concrete lined walls, hardened doors or any fire protection at all. They are best described as "lock boxes". The distinction is that one, the safe, is designed to prevent a determined person some tools and limited time from accessing the contents, while the "lock box", is more for keeping casual observers with no tools and limited time from accessing the same. This "box" clearly falls into the latter category. That last statement is NOT a criticism of the item itself! If you just need a lock box to keep wandering fingers and casually interested people from accessing your stuff, but have extremely limited space, this is actually a fantastic solution. The push-button combination is very easy to program and use, and they key is better than your run-of-the-mill key as far as complexity and possible lock-picking is concerned (though I'm no Lockpicking Lawyer, so your mileage may vary on that). Because this lock box is so compact, the interior space is extremely limited. It says it is a 2-3 gun safe, but I cannot securely fit any more than two long guns in it comfortably. However, it does have a light-duty shelf (fine for paperwork and the like, but WILL NOT support ammo for very long), and it has two really clever cutouts in the back of the door for storing other small items. These two cut outs are things I've not seen on any other cabinet style lock box before and I find them very handy! The door also opens fairly widely, as shown in the advertisement, which makes the back of the door storage even more useful. The finish on the interior and exterior is nice with a pebbled mat finish and doesn't stand out like something piano black would. If you are tight on space, or want a lock box you can "hide away" from prying eyes (which is another good way to increase security of your items), you would have a hard time doing better than this for size, footprint as well as affordability. ... show more

    • Secure Sanctuary or Shady Storage?
To start this is a cabinet not a safe. The locking mechanism is decent and the door swings freely. The material seems decent and with hold off hoodlums for a little while. As this is a smaller cabinet coming in at a price of 150+ makes this questionable. I can get a version that is a large size cabinet with a lock for 50-100$ more that will hold way more than this one. While the quality isnt bad the price is a downfall for this one. ... show more

    • Very slim and very nice gun safe!
I got this to have in my room for a few special items I wanted close to me, This was a very professional and nicely made safe. Its not to heavy and it fits just about any space in your room, I was able to fit behind my door with it having know effect on being in the way! I love the features it has, the keys makes it nice incase the batteries fail or the other way around if you lose the keys you have the code entry option. The handle is smooth and a perfect size for your hands. It has nice organized slots and perfect fitting for a few items you prefer to have inside. The nice felt inside keeps your items safe from damage. Its also comes with hardware to mount it securely in your desired location. This is exactly what I needed. It's just the right size for my needs, and fits my 3 rifles perfectly. I have a separate safe for my handgun, so I haven't used the top area for that. but I do keep some cash and other emergency stuff there. Perfect sized gun safe with excellent security. Solid metal construction gives added security from break in. Three bolt locker means no easy entry. Access via key pad in front with programmable pass key. Also comes with supplied set of keys for entry. For added security if wrong code is entered it automatically shuts down for progressive longer periods of time to avoid unauthorized entry, key won’t even work when in shut down mode.
