  • They were a Christmas present for my grandson
Size: Small Color: Grey/White
He loves them, and he uses them all the time, and they work very well for him

  • Good protection, but comes with a some down sides.
Size: LG Color: Black / Black
I bought both the 187 Killer pads and the Triple 8 KP22 Knee pads to compare. They are both good pads, but they both have upsides and downsides. For the 187 Killer Pads, the upside is they are quality construction and I believe they would provide a lot of protection in a fall. Padding is thick and adequate, if not a bit stiff. I would have liked to see a little more pliable padding, but I imagine that would require even thicker padding, making the whole pad thicker and bulkier. This brings me to the two downsides, which are related. The 187 Pads are bulky... bulkier than the Triple 8 pads, which is probably due to the extra padding sizes. The 187 pads have a bit more padding, making them bulkier. In addition to the bulky pads, the Large (which I purchased) was too tight. They were almost impossible to get on (and take off) and severely restricted my movement. There's no way these would have fit over my jeans or anything thicker that I would normally ride in. The Triple 8 pads did not restrict my movement in any meaningful way and did not cut off my circulation, and were easier to put on and take off. While the 187 Killer Pads might offer slightly more protection, the convenience of putting them on the and the lack of movement restriction, and slightly less bulkiness make the Triple 8 knee pads superior to the 187's. If you want the ultimate protection and don't care about your movement, then the 187s might be a better option, but buy 2 sizes up... the knee are sized WAY too small. In the pic, you can see The Triple 8 on the left and 187s on the right for the knee pads. My movement in the knees was SEVERELY restricted on the 187s, whereas the Triple 8s did not restrict my movement at all. I think the 187 knee pads would offer a bit more protection in a fall, but at the cost of movement, the difficulty of putting them on and taking them off, and them being too tight, there's no way I could recommend them. I'll be keeping the Triple 8 and sending the 187s back. I would like to have liked the 187s more, but the sizing made that impossible. Perhaps with a larger size, I might feel differently, but I think the movement restriction would still be there, given the bulk of the 187s, making it a non-starter for anything that requires movement in the elbows and knees. ... show more

  • Just like my old skool BONES pads, but buy a size up!
Size: X-Large Color: Grey/White
Recently got back into Rollerblading and needed to gear up (new skates, new pads, etc). I don’t go as hard as 25 years ago (48 now) but still like quality gear. I bought the grey/white, dunno why the desc says red/white/blue. These remind me of my old skool Bones knee pads, but slightly less bulky. They’re well constructed, solid skid plate, solid stitching, sturdy padding, solid velcro and buckle. I don’t plan on having any serious wrecks like I would’ve back in the day from bombing parking garages, stairs, cars, curbs and any other street hazards, but I’m confident, these pads would protect me just as well as my Bones pads did! I bought 1 size up as suggested in another review and glad I did! The measurement method had me in a Large. I bought XLarge just to be safe. Without even strapping them down, with my leg through elastic sock, the fit is snug, which is great, cos the point is for them not to slip off during a wreck. Doesn’t take much to strap them down. you can go from not at all to full circulation cutoff! You’ll notice in the photo I only have it halfway strapped and it’s just tight enough. Going full is super, locked down tight! The bottom I don’t have tightened at all. I just have the strap threaded through so it’s not loose and flying around! Haven’t skated with them yet, but walking around the house and wearing them around, they feel fine. If you’re a casual, fitness, recreational skater, maybe these are overkill. If you’re a recreational skater but have to jump over stuff (by choice or by emergency maneuvers) then you owe your knees a pair of these! If you roller derby (which I definitely do not), these are mandatory! I’m somewhere in between recreational and still try to hit some jumps and stairs. My back will probably give out before these kneed pads do! Again, consider buying a size up. Update: Took a spin around the neighborhood. Didn’t wreck so no real life evidence of their durability, but they were non obtrusive to my stride and cadence and comfortable. Note, they are hot. So your knees will sweat, a lot, especially in the Spring\Summer. Be sure to dry, wash, air out as needed! Spontaneous photo taken from window reflection after my trip. ... show more

  • Not dainty
Size: Small Color: Grey/White
I don’t know what I was expecting but these are really bulky and seem to run small. They definitely look like they get the job done, extra think padding and form fitting. I’m not a big lady (5’4”/medium Urban Outfitters) and the wrist guards in small fit but are almost too tight and these knee pads did not fit at all. I got one one and got scared/frustrated trying to get it back off. I measured my knee at 14” which can be a medium. Surprising that these run small assuming most of the people buying these have a bigger bone structure. Hope this helps. ... show more
