  • Awesome product
Color: Yellow
Look, I didn't need 18 baby chicks. My partner told me I didn't need 18 baby chicks. Yet, here we are, 18 baby chicks later, and this unassuming little box is entirely to blame. Before I bought this incubator, I was a functional adult. Now, I'm just the human who constantly monitors a tiny, motorized eighteen-egg disco ball in the dining room. This thing is ridiculously simple, which is its greatest danger. I filled the water, set the temperature, put the eggs in, and then spent the next three weeks whispering encouraging words through the clear lid. The auto-turner is the real MVP; it’s silent, reliable, and frankly, it made the process too easy. I didn't have to roll them even once! That's quality time I saved and then used for the far more critical task of naming the eggs (we had Yolko Ono and Greg). The humidity control worked flawlessly, by the way. We achieved a near 100% hatch rate, which means my tiny apartment is now a fully operational petting zoo. If you want to start a backyard chicken empire, or if you just want to convince your family that you're totally normal while secretly running a highly efficient micro-hatchery on your kitchen counter, this is your weapon of choice. ... show more

  • Good low cost incubator
Color: Yellow
This incubator works very well. I used it to hatch out about a dozen chicks with good success. The temperature and humidity levels are maintained well. One thing to watch out for is that after a hatch, you should clean remove the eggs and clean the plastic tray and rotating egg disc. If that egg goo is left, it will rot and draw flies, which will lay eggs, and you will have maggots. You need to keep track of how old the eggs are and discard ones that show no signs of life after 21 days. This is a good incubator. The plastic tray and egg disc are plastic and look like they could be broken if you are not careful, but I have cleaned mine several times and it is fine. This is a good, low cost machine. ... show more

  • All chicks shrink wrapped. Slowly dying
Color: Yellow
UPDATE: the entire incubation humidity never went up. I stuffed wet sponges in it at lockdown. It still never went over 60%. Today was hatch day. All chicks are shrink wrapped in their shells. Slowly dying. I have 2 humidifiers running in our bathroom and was finally able to get humidity in the incubator to 75% but we have already lost chicks.... looks like all 17 chicks will die. What a sad experience. Do not buy this incubator. Was excited for this incubator but I am very disappointed. I did everything right and humidity will not go over 30%. The candling light also did not work from the gate. The buttons are hard to push but I even tried to use a The top doesn’t fit right but it’s too late we are already incubating. I am confident these chicks will die in the egg ... show more

  • Great Smaller Incubator
Color: Yellow
This incubator is great for a smaller batch of eggs. I had a cracked egg early on in the bigger incubator and my son waxed the crack and we bought a tiny four egg incubator to put lil "Waxie" in so, maybe he might make it while having to "sheltering in place." But, alas, we poured the tiny bit of water into the wrong slot and we heard it sizzle as it shut down! So, rather than deal with that, and also, not knowing if we fried the heater or even if it might work after drying it out, I quickly bought this eight egg incubator that was the same as the one I already had, just smaller. It came right away, I filled both reservoirs of water, plugged it in, and waited for the numbers to display correctly. Then, I decided to take the six uncracked eggs and put them in the new, smaller incubator so I could clean out the first, larger incubator and put the cracked and waxed egg in the first, bigger incubator. Then, if Waxie had indeed contaminated the first environment, it was "on him." After all, he made the mess in the first place! Kind of cruel! It was like saying, "You made your bed, now, lay in it!" But, this is my first try at incubating and I was not even sure of what to do after reading up on everything this poor lil egg had gone through or may suffer as a result of being cracked. I feel so much relief that I do not have to constantly fill the water and turn the egg three or four times a day. The little blue house DID work after it dried. I may use it as an emergency condominium if any other egg goes through what Waxie went through, but, again, so grateful for this carefree (in comparison) incubator. In three days we will be looking for them to pip! I will be passing out cigars in the waiting room! By the way, this also came with a blue egg rack that would hold many more tiny Quail eggs! I have 164 wild Quail that I have counted here. I might need this little rack for Quail eggs in an emergency, for all I know! That was a nice bonus! It is good to have two for the unforeseen "what if?" ... show more

  • Works great!
Color: Yellow
Works great! Hatched out quail eggs. Only reason its getting 4 stars is it seems like cheaper quality, and the lid is really weird and hard to set it right. I also feel like its design will eventually self destruct as it has an open motor to turn the eggs in with the eggs so I feel like it'll eventually rust out, but for right now it's done great! ... show more
