Very happy with this box. This is my sixth purchase of hardwood cutoffs from Woodchucks. My third box of walnut. My second of these wider cuts. Usually the walnut is 11/16 to 7/8. This box is 1” and great looking pieces with nice grain figure to be working with. No defects. I find these boxes worth the cost and can’t wait to put some things together with them. The box was not full. Another level of boards would easily have fit in the box. Of the boards received, 8 boards were very nice with minimal defects or blemishes, good project material. 2 boards were knotted and had cracks through to the other side, very little usable wood in these two.

I was hesitant to order the Walnut after reading some of the reviews, but I talked myself into ordering a box to try. I got the box today and was very happy with the pieces I received! They are beautiful!!! I can't wait to use them in a project. Thank you!!

Much better than I expected. Beautiful walnut pieces, grain and color is outstanding. Will definitely purchase additional species of woods. Highly recommend.

Approximately 50% ended up in waste due to knots, cracks, edge, etc., and this is after ripping everything into 2” strips. Ultimately ended up at around $25 for board foot of poor quality walnut that I had to remill myself. 1. Consider these rough sawn and you will have to mill/joint yourself - varying thickness, uneven edge, triangular shapes, planing marks, etc etc etc. 2. This is definitely a “character” walnut, however this “character” makes a lot of it unstable and unusable. Overall do not recommend - price is too high for given quality.
