    • Self Leveling DOES seem to work!
I've never had a laser leveler -- I've always used the old-school wooden, composite, or metal bars with spirit levels in them (I have one 7 foot, one 6 foot and several 4 foot). Saw this on Amazon at a reasonable price and decided to try it, being skeptical that I would be able to actually use it. I set it up on a short brick wall, and went through the instructions as best I could for getting it to "self-level". I got some lines on the walls (and ceilings), and put a piece of tape there to preserve the placement (my tapes were placed about 12 feet apart) by drawing a line on the piece of tape under/at the green line the laser was projecting. I then turned the unit completely off, and moved the level to the other end of house and played with it some more. Eventually, I came back to my original spot, and placed the level close, but not identically, to where I had it before (and this is on an uneven brick wall, so the chances of "accidentally" getting the same line-up is nil). I turned the laser on, and had it do the auto-level as before, and my line was a few inches from the same place as before, but when I raised it up to the same height -- it was IDENTICAL at BOTH ends where my marked tape was! I have no idea how it did it, but it did. I then placed my 7 foot wooden level on the green line, and it showed perfectly centered! Wow! I was amazed! Super simple to operate (figuring out what to do and when to do it was tricky as the instructions are written in laser-operator-ese -- you need to know how to do it to understand the instructions of how to do it). I will be using this in my basement to put up a set of shelves that will wrap around a corner, and I feel confident, with this thing's help, that it will all come out "square and true". Recommended -- especially given the price at about 1/2 of everything else out there on the market! ... show more

    • Brother in law who does kitchen remodels loves this thing!
I picked this up for my brother in law who does high end kitchen remodels and has been leveling the cabinets/countertops withe a level and chalk line for years. When he opened this up he immediately had a grin from ear to ear and ripped it out of the box. He loved it has a rechargeable/removable battery and tested it out on my kitchen right then and there. I'm glad to report that my counters are very level according to this tool. Would highly recommend! ... show more

    • Does not lock lasers. Self leveling feature does not work. Returning
Self Leveling feature does not work. The mounting hole in the bottom is not centered and when mounting it to the fine adjustment plate it falls over. Not worth buying. Does not lock lasers when it is "self leveled" so constantly beeps when trying to get it to square it up.

    • Lots of features for the price
This is the first laser level I've used. There was a bit of a learning curve, but once I figured out some of the settings and kinks it is my go to level going forward. I got this to hang several pictures around an office that I wanted all at the same height on different walls. Upon turning it on, I had a hard time setting it to the desired height. The instruction book wasn't really useful so I stacked it on a pile of old books to get it where I wanted it for height. It did the job and the pictures looked great when done. Messing with it more, I found tapping the buttons changes settings between 3 different laser settings: top, bottom and vertical, or combinations of multiple. The laser line is bright green. When the level is moving, such as being held and slightly tilted, it beeps like crazy until it's steady. The self leveling seems to really work but is incredibly sensitive. Just waking near it shakes the level and moves the laser line, causing it to beep until it's level again. I get the warning but it is a little obnoxious. With the battery on one side, the level feels out of balance when elevated. There is a scissor lift and a few other goodies included in the set. I haven't had good success keeping the level balanced on them at height and staying stable. It is noted the battery lasts for a really long time. ... show more

The seller’s description doesn’t do this laser level justice. It is awesome! With both vertical and horizontal lasers, it makes wall mounting photos, decor, and accent trim a breeze. I highly recommend this laser level and for the price it's a fraction of what one would cost at a big box store. The rechargeable battery means you can use it repeatedly without having to waste money on disposable batteries, especially if the tool sits for long periods of time without use. ... show more

    • Very impressive at this low price
Ive seen these before, but they are typically quite expensive. This one has a few smallish issues that can be solved. I used some steel bars and magnets to help it be less likely to fall over. As a homeowner, I won't be using it all the time, but have found it useful for hanging shelves in the garage, planning out a fence, and hanging rows of accoustic panels. The battery is very generous and lasts a long time. I was a bit hesitant about using this for things like shelves because 3degrees is a lot for a shelf, but it seems pretty true when compared to my bubble level. It's hard to beat at this price.
