I had taken a chance on this after reading a lot of “fair” reviews. I am pleasantly surprised that so far it is operating smoothly, has a great screen, and has been easy to use. I’m so happy I took a chance on getting this one- I have 2 Aura brand frames already and they were triple the price.

As I write this review, I've been using this product for more than a whole year now. We bought this digital frame because our beloved dog of 15 years passed away, and we wanted to create a memorial corner for him at home. The frame is meant to display the thousands of pictures and videos we have of him on a loop basis, so that whenever we come around that corner, there is always a good memory waiting to be experienced. He was sick with cancer for a little over 2 years before he passed, and in that time we literally took thousands of pictures and made hundreds of videos of him. We have about 40 GBs of pictures and videos, which we loaded onto a 128 GB SD card. I can't speak to the social features and picture sending/receiving capabilities of this product. My use case was meant to be a lot simpler: load the card in the frame and have it play our photos and videos, completely offline, in a continuous loop. It doesn't get any simpler than that for a digital frame, and we have older frames that although smaller, can handle the task flawlessly. We thought this one being bigger would offer a better experience, and part of our disappointment comes from the fact it doesn't. So the good aspects are: the 1080p screen is good, the size offers a decent way of experiencing images, pictures are clear, images look good on the screen, even some very old, low-resolution pictures taken circa 2010 on non-smart flip phones with basic cameras still look good. The included speakers are good enough to experience audio from any clips, although we keep it muted because otherwise having sound randomly coming up from a corner of your house can be disturbing. The bad aspects: this is clearly a low-quality android tablet with a customized android version on top of it that activates only the functions to turn it into a digital frame. The build quality itself is only reasonable, and the screen comes with a protecting layer that is easy to peel of by mistake when you're setting up, leaving your screen permanently damaged. The processor in this frame is slow, and the amount of RAM does not make for a speedy and snappy operation. The user interface typically lags anything from 0.5 second to several seconds of waiting time once you touch the screen to activate a command. Even though the product is capable of displaying images directly from an SD card or USB drive, it still has to load all those images into its own memory first. That memory is also shared with the OS, which got a few updates and grew in size over time, reducing the remaining free amount that can be used to load our photos and videos, so that they get displayed. So in the end, it doesn't matter that we have a 128 GB SD card with plenty of free space in it - the frame tries to load all our images and videos into its own memory, which is not enough to accommodate it all. So, as time passes, operation of the slide show gets progressively slower and touch-screen responsivity goes down as the system lags to responde the closer it gets to have its free memory fully loaded. Invariably, the system crashes every 2.5 days and we have to restart it. It has been like this ever since the beginning - 2.5 days and it stops the slide show, getting permanently frozen on whichever last image it had on screen before its memory got full. And then we reset it and start over. Overall, I don't think it delivers value for the price asked. If this frame can't even handle simple slide show from an external source like a card, then what else is it really good for? I do not recommend this product. I'd willingly spend more to get a higher-quality, better-specs product that doesn't lag, doesn't crash and can handle simple display of images and videos on a 1080p screen of this size. At the same time, with the point where technology is today, there is no reason why a higher-quality and better-specs products could not be put together for an even lower price.

Purchased for Father. After a few months it began freezing on random photos. Customer service tried helping but it didn't work so eventually after a lot of back and forth they sent a new one. So far so good - working fine.

We bought two of these frames for Christmas gifts for 2024. Both were set up at the same time with the same app. One works wonderfully and is a treasure, showing a slide show of pictures and videos 24/7 - 5 stars! It's like having the grandbaby from across the country growing up in the living room, with constant varieties of activities and jabbering! But the second one stopped doing slide shows after a month, and settles on displaying one picture, which has to be changed manually if you want a new view - 2 stars. Averaged to 3 stars overall
