This is a great lightweight backpack if you aren't carrying a ton of heavy things. The shoulders are padded with thick foam and it's very comfortable to wear when I bring it to the gym and such. I don't know if it could hold up to heavy books such as for students, since the bottom is not reinforced and just one layer of the durable fabric but for light travel it works very well. It has tons of pockets and places to store things, and there's a hidden pocket on the inside of the large zippered section that I use for my tablet or battery backup chargers which works great to keep them separate. The color is really nice and unique and the bottle holders on the side are deep enough for my water bottle or protein to fit without worrying about them falling out. The logo is just a bit flashy and I wish it wasn't shiny and at the top of the bag, but overall I rarely notice anymore. The zippers work well and are easy to grab. The stitching on some of the linings does seem low quality in places, but I haven't had any durability issues yet with mine. 4.8/5 ... show more

    • Nice Bare-Bones Backpack

First impression & what you get: This is about as simple as a 3 compartment backpack can be. The bag is small and light; the materials feel durable and seem to be water-resistant enough to protect content from a light drizzle. The straps adjust easily, however they are very close together on the bag which creates a bit of a pinch around my neck if I fully tighten the straps - this leads me to believe that this may not be a very comfortable bag for people with thicker necks. The comfort level is pretty average for a backpack, there just isn't much to be said about it one way or the other. The zippers are adequate; they have no snags and operate smoothly - only time will tell if they are durable. Finally, there are 3 compartments: A large (though thin) lightly padded compartment with one pocket for your laptop, and enough extra space for either a large book or a light rain jacket; a medium (and very thin) compartment with enough space to fit a keyboard, notepads, magazines, umbrella, or a few similarly sized "thin" objects; a small (and yet again thin) lightly padded compartment for your laptop charger. What you don't get: Pockets! This thing has no pockets for organizing bits and baubles... Since there are no pockets, you will need a trapper keeper, plano box, or (like I use) zippered pouches to keep your memory cards, usb dongles, mouse, cables, pens and other small items from rolling around and getting lost or damaged. Lastly: I thought not having pockets would be a deal breaker, but I've managed so far by adding pouches I already owned, and I believe a Plano Box style organizer would fit in the middle compartment and be an excellent solution if you find yourself missing pockets - "your mileage may vary." Overall, I think this is a great little backpack, especially if you're only worried about packing quickly and bringing the bare minimum, e.g. a laptop, a charger, and a couple of small items. ... show more

A good size backpack with 3 separate pockets/compartments. (1) Front pocket is large, with one zipper. It would be better if there were some organizational slots in this pocket. Strangely, the pocket also extends UP the entire height of the front of the backpack - not sure what I would put in here to make use of that. I tried to show that in the picture with the pencil. (2) Middle pocket is the height of the backpack, one zipper again. (3) Back pocket, what I think of as the main compartment, as a separate sleeve for organization. I slipped a white binder in it. (4) Each side has a mesh pocket that is deep enough to hold a slim water bottle. (The one in the picture is a Contigo 24oz bottle) (5) Shoulder traps are sufficient padded for light use, but there isn't a a strap that goes across the chest for stability if you have a very heavy bag. (5) Luggage strap in the back can be handy if you use this bag for travel - you can slide the handle of a carry-on luggage through, keeping the backpack on the luggage as you wheel it around. The bottom of the backpack is slightly padded. I wouldn't expect it to protect a laptop if you dropped it from shoulder height, but it does provide some protection so that you don't have to gingerly place the backpack on the floor if there is a laptop inside. I got this backpack for my son to carry his chromebook, a notebook/binder, calculator, writing utensils and a jacket to his SAT prep class. I'm not sure it would hold up to daily high school use, but it is perfect for our intended purpose and was a good price. He likes the plain gray color and the logo on the front is small enough that it doesn't both him. ... show more

If you're looking for a backpack with bells and whistles, keep looking. There is nothing wrong with this backpack, it is simply as simple as it gets. It's a good size: 18"x16"x7" It has three inside pockets including a laptop sleeve. It also has two outside pockets on eitherside for water or whatever else you need handy. Seems very durable and is comfortable to wear. It has luggage straps for travel convenience. Description says it's waterproof, though I've not had the opportunity to test that out. There are only two things I think this pack is lacking. 1). Since it does have a laptop sleeve, I would prefer to have that sleeve be a little more padded. Not sure I would actually use this backpack for my computer. 2). Not even a pencil/pen pocket inside. That seems pretty standard these days. All in all I think this is a good backpack for the price. ... show more
