It's a simple and minimalistic design that's easy to use. It's 30 inches in height total, but you'll lose a bit of the height when you push it down into the ground. How much is up to you, but I'm using 6 inches because my soil is soft with any less it would tip over from the weight of the bushes and vines pushing up against it. It's a minor deterrent for animals, but won't really keep them out if they decide they want to push through. Dogs can very easily push through it, squirrels will climb or jump over and cats can do any or all of that depending on their mood. I'm using them as a border along some bushes and vines to keep them in check and mark where I need to prune. It works pretty well for that.

This garden fence went together pretty quickly. The parts match up well, but you do need to be careful when sliding the top part into the bottom. If you get it a little skewed, it will bung up. I had to examine the directions (pictures only, no words) carefully to understand they were showing two different methods of connecting panels using the “S” clips. It is possible to use this as two separate 10 foot lengths of fencing, just very short. I got sore thumbs getting all the “S” clips on. This fencing inserted easily into loose tilled ground and my rotted mulch. It would have trouble on harder, compacted ground. It is sturdy enough to hold up/back potato vines, rhubarb leaves or other herbaceous vegetation. You can adjust the height by how far you press the bottom tongs into the ground. I did like that since each panel can slides independently on the “S” clips, it was not too hard to get a 5 foot length inserted against some floppy potato vines. I did have one panel become unclipped as I worked with that 5 foot length. This would not contain a puppy. The “S” clips would not withstand sudden hard pressure. It would keep a dog out of an area, unless it really wanted to get in. Then it would not offer much resistance. It is 5 stars for plants and gardens. I feel they are being misleading by saying it would deter dogs.

The rabbits were destroying my garden, but this fence has kept them out. Installation was a breeze, and it's held up well against the small critters. While it's not the sturdiest fence I've ever seen, it's definitely worth the price for the peace of mind it provides.

I like this fence, it is a little different than most to assemble. It was a bit fussy because you have to be careful not to let one side get too far ahead of the other while sliding the top down through the four little pieces of pipe. I think the little pieces of piping you go through are only soldered on. Of all the fence pieces each with four little pieces of piping, only one was a little crooked, but I gently straightened it by putting only one fence post in and turning, and it did not break off. I wouldn't push down on the top, because it is really only the two S clips that are keeping the top from sliding down too far. Once up it is a lovely and very sturdy fence. It should last many years.

My picture is hard to see because it just fades in with all that is going on in the landscape. these are perfect for trying to keep my dog from walking all over my baby flowers that are trying to come up.You can peace them together how you need them and you can use them seperatly as I chose to do in my garden choosing to use them as barriers between permanent objects. They are durable, easy to put together, quick to install by just pushing them into the ground where you want them to go. They look nice and they do a good job of creating seperation in the gardem where I need it. I could also see using these and small trellis especially in planter pots because they would also be perfect for that! With all of the things you could use these for there is a lot of value, also since they are made of metal they will last longer.

This decorative edging fencing is attractive and well-made. It's coated to prevent rust and looks sharp. You have the option of just using the rounded decorative portion in the ground, or attaching it to the bottom portions for greater height. These also come with plastic clips to keep the panels together. I'm very pleased with these decorative metal panels!
