This is a very solid barrel pump, with impressive construction. The main pump unit is constructed of heavy PPS material. It cycles smoothly and is rated at 10 GPM. The fill tubes are provided in three pieces, all threaded, and joint tape is provided. A barrel access sleeve is provided to fix the fill tube into the barrel. Assembly is easy. The exit tube is metal (looks like stainless steel), and is also threaded. The input and exit tubes are of different diameter, so you can't assemble them incorrectly into the rotary pump head. Simple assembly and spec instructions are provided. The system self-primes from the input tube and delivers a strong stream. Overall this is a solid, well built liquid pump that has everything you need to easily connect it to your 55 gal drum for fluid transfer. Based on my impression, this will likely be a very durable unit. Note: NO mention of suitability for potable water (drinking water) is made, so you need to do your own research if this is safe for that use. This pump is stated to be usable with a large variety of liquids, but not everything.

This is a very sturdy barrel pump, the overall quality is very good, in my opinion. My one has a slightly bent fill tube section but it did not effect its ability to pump the fuel. The pump unit is fairly heavy duty, it has a smooth cycle rate of around 9 GPM. The whole thing took about 5 minutes to assemble, the pump tubes come in 3 sections that screw together snuggly. The exit tube is made of metal, holds up well to fuel, oil and water. The whole thing has a good weight to it, not to heavy, not to light. One person can easily handle it. It fits well into a regular 55 gallon drum/container however I found you can use it in larger containers easily. If you are using it in a larger container, you may want a second pair of hands to hold the pump steady while you crank the handle. I think it will hold up well over time with a lot of use, it is solid and well made and the smooth cycle action of the pump delivers a smooth consistent flow of liquid. It is a good thing to have around your property if you have to deal with fuel, or oil or a lot of rain barrels.

Works surprisingly well, it's got a decent flow rate, it was easy to install into the drum, and is a good value for the money. It would have been nice if the pickup tube was a one-piece unit instead of several pieces put together, I'm probably going to end up putting one long piece in place of what it came with just for peace of mind, I'm sure they did it the way they did for smaller packaging. So far so good I have not noticed any leakage.

This was very easy to assemble and use with my rain barrels for a garden plot. I have behind garage that's not near a hose. What's nice about this is if you don't want to use the provided nozzle, hoses can screw into the top so you can use as you choose. I took the nozzle to home Depot to find an appropriate sized hose adapter and I've been good to go

This product comes in a small box and the stem of the unit comes in 4 pieces and needs to be assembled for use. The components are sturdy and it works great. Instruction booklet has clear directions for assembly and use. (This is an excellent replacement for a plastic manual siphon unit that I had added a length of hose to the stem to extend it to get to the bottom of the 55 gal drum. It was an inexpensive solution that didn't quite work)
