I was surprised how little the box was when this arrived. For stowage and shipping that's a good thing. But I had not noticed in the listing that the suction shaft was a multi-piece assembly. Given how relatively thin the plastic sections are and how finely threaded the connections are, it does not bode well for the long term durability of this item even if the pump section continues to operate. The plastic discharge connection that a flex hose can be connected to is a similar thin plastic unlikely to last in use. But for now, it does operate fine and a rough calculation of the flow rate when pumping at a moderate speed (not so fast as to be quickly tiring) it seemed to provide close to the promised flow. Although I did not try to pump from an empty barrel, with just one section of lift pipe installed the pump did self prime with no apparent problem. I did pre-wet the pump so that may have helped. The pumping was fairly easy and for my needs of 10 gallons or so at each daily fill, it should be sufficient without being overly tiring. This is intended to be an emergency backup for the more expensive electrically powered drum pumps. So it should see rare and intermittent use so hopefully that will extend it's useful life.

I've been looking for a hand pump of this quality, that wasn't made of metal, for quite some time, years actually. While I was a little skeptical of an all 'plastic' pump, this ABS pump is the most ROBUST product I could have hoped for, really well made of durable material. Being in an area that is prone to power outages and on my own well, this hand pump is perfect for the six 55 gallon plastic drums I use for emergency drinking water. Definitely a 5 STAR RECOMMENDATION!

As we prepare for hurricane season this pump makes it easy and efficient to store water incase of water outages. Flow of water is great for our needs , also a great arm workout. Fits perfectly in drum and goes all the way down

Took forever to ship. Seems to be made of decent materials. Instruction claims viton seals which is great. My only complaint is the tubes being all plastic are kind of on the thin side so i am scared i will snap the tube one day just by cranking it. Took a long time to show up despite being prime. has an attachment for hoses via barb and the exit spout can be rotated to suit whatever is needed. Overall pretty decent Aside from that so far soo good.

I got this to pump out my rain barrel if there happens to be no power, also if I need water from it for outdoor use there's no point pumping the water into the house so I can carry it outside.
