  • THE bandsaw blade for cutting resin
We do hundreds, nay thousands of cuts of resin rods as a course of business. At first I tried buying cheap steel blades but we had to throw them away after a few hundred cuts and they never gave us all that great of cut. I tried the lennox equivalent of this and found it to be overly aggressive and grabby... The ReSaw King has been like a laser. It simply just slices through the resin rods no matter if it's .6" or 1.25" thick. We can get 1k cuts easily and push it past that if we're less picky about the quality of the cut. Once we use it up, we can box it up and send it to Laguna to get them resharpened several times. ... show more

  • Best cutting blade I've used
This is the best cutting blade I've ever used. I am sizing 10 ft. 8x8 cedars for use as columns (20 of them) and this blade just keeps on cutting and there is no degradation of performance at all yet. I've used it for some smaller projects also and the quality of cut reduces sanding time. One word of caution; on my Shopfox 17 inch saw I had to remove the throat plate because the teeth will catch on the end of the slot even with a 90 degree cut. With the large timbers I use this on however the throat plate is not needed anyway. For smaller projects I use Carter blades. Definitely recommended; I'm very pleased. ... show more

  • It is fantastic. I've used it on hard maple
I just installed this blade after tuning my saw. It is fantastic. I've used it on hard maple, mahogany and white oak. The cuts are very smooth. I get the impression that some critics expect a 220 grit finish.

  • Read Reviews Carefully
James May is a Verified Purchaser - who purchased the blade, uses it for re-sawing, and gives it 5 Stars. The other reviewer, T.M. Stock, may have used the blade(s), however he isn't a verified purchaser of the blade from Amazon - he gives it 1 Star... take his review with a grain of salt. I have seen this blade in action (and give it 4 stars after seeing the results and talking to the woodworker). I am here to purchase one. ... show more

  • Overpriced if It's a Steel Tipped Blade; Poorly Made if It's Carbide Tipped
Talk about confusion...Amazon and Laguna's own product videos claim that this blade is 'C8 steel tipped', while both Woodcraft and Rockler claim that it is 'C8 carbide tipped'. The ONLY reason to pay over $30 for a band saw blade is for the abrasion resistance that you get from a carbide-tipped blade, both for cutting exotics like anigre or just durability in resaw where the saw is working much harder. I would suggest that any customer considering a Resaw King call Laguna directly and ask them for clarification...all three of my RKs have been disappointments out of the box...one required resharpening before use, another needs resharpening after just a few dozen linear feet of hardwood resaw, and the third showed the sort of tracking error that I used to get with dull Lenox Tri-Masters (after several thousand linear feet of use). My only hesitation in sending all three back is that when they are cutting well, the surface off the blade is almost planed - so I'll reserve them for ash and perhaps cherry stuff, and buy a few more Woodmaster CTs for REAL resaw work. As for alternatives? For the same or less, a Lenox Trimaster runs about $195 for a 1" x 140" blade, while a Lenox Woodmaster CT 1" x 140" blade will run $110...neither cut as smoothly as this blade does, but either will last 10-20 times longer than the RK in actual use. Spectrum Supply is a good source for either Lenox blade. Summary: Give this blade a pass and go for a proven product. ... show more
