  • Quiet and moves a lot of water
I have a non-computer application where I need to pump water for cooling. The combo units with reservoirs got really bad reviews, so I wanted a pump that does one thing well: pump water. As far as pumps go, overall this thing is a winner. Pros: Brushless motor which should have less wear over time than standard motors. This thing is quiet, real quiet, barely a hum when running. No leaks. Moves water consistently after priming and purging air. Cons: It is not self-priming but doesn't claim to be, so yeah that is a hassle. Not positive displacement so water can backflow when off, again not a claim but just for awareness. Air pockets in line will cause pump to cavitate and stop pumping, so purge the system. I did some bench testing before putting this into service. The 600 l/h rate is probably lab conditions with no attachments. Running with 4ft of 1/4 vinyl tubing drops the rate to about 130 l/h. Add a cooling block and that drops down to 90 l/h. That is still an absurd amount of water movement (well over a liter a minute). I don't have another device to compare to, but a little research indicates this is normal. ... show more

  • Very quiet but no brass thread inserts
I'm using it to water-cool a CPU. OUT OF BOX: The product description shows pictures of brass inserts for the threads. The item I got has no inserts..just plastic. That's how the pump I'm replacing failed. The plastic eventually cracked (and made a mess). Minus 2 stars because that is why I bought it. FIRST DAY: 2/20/2025. It's very noisy when dry and quiets down considerably when there is coolant moving but still crackles because of the tiny bubbles that are still in it. Once the bubbles clear out, it it is almost dead silent at max voltage (via motherboard). I couldn't even hear it from 7 inches with all other fans turned off. It does seem to move decent water. I couldn't get a flow rate measurement with a kitchen sink setup because it was so picky to get primed. My computer setup forces the pump to prime because everything gravity-feeds to force air out. ... show more
