Install is easy and straightforward. User manual is EXTREMELY detailed. Having advice ranging from "don't stick your hand in the cold air or use this for cooking, idiot" to specific torque specs for the flare fittings, wiring diagrams, and step by step install instructions including how to vacuum it. I do NOT recommend installing it with the pipes hidden behind the shroud. There is too little space and it's way too hard to mount the unit when you can't see how the pipes are in the way. Use the side knock out so they can't block you mounting the unit. Pipes are a little short, but this is the cheapest unit on Amazon. If you are running the indoor unit directly above the outdoor one, this is perfect so you don't have loops. So far I'm extremely satisfied with the packaging/instructions/quality of everything. Finished the vacuum/charging and it works great. Pulls around 12 amps at max load and the indoor unit is literally whisper quiet. Way more effieicent than mechanical ACs. If there is a 1 degree difference this will run at 10% to fix it, instead of running at 100% like old AC units. saves tons of energy. Install difficulty isn't too hard for anyone who uses tools or does DIY. install hoses in indoor unit, wrap them, install indoor unit, install outdoor unit, hook up pipes/electrical, vacuum, close, and release charge. I like their instructions step where they say to partially release the high line refrigerant. This means your lines go from vacuum to slight pressure, so when you disconnect the vacuum pump, no air gets into the system. Very good idea.

The changing weather over the past couple of days let me test both cold and heat for this unit and so far, I am very pleased with it, very efficient and whisper quiet. One note though about the 220/230-volt version of the Mountman mini split. The confusing part is the power supply side wiring at the outside unit connection block. It has L1 and L2 meaning both of those connections are hot. But they give you a 3-wire harness for connecting the outside unit to your power disconnect that has 3 wires, black, white and green (ground). 220-volt wiring is normally red and black for hot and white for common. So come to find out these 220/230-volt mini splits do not use a common white wire, they only use the 2 hot wires (white in this case and black). Mountman support quickly responded to confirm the correct wiring. I will certainly purchase from them again if I need another unit Update May 7 2026: I could not be happier with this product. I have been running it for about a month and a half and been able to test the heat and cooling of this unit. This product is efficient and I would most definitely purchase another one if I needed a second unit. It perfectly heats and cools my 420 sq ft space in my metal shop. In fact we have had some very hot days recently and I set this unit on 74 degrees. By the end of the day I have to turn it up because its a little cool in the building. I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a mini split. Thank you Mount Man

This air conditioner is fantastic! I’ve finally escaped the hassle of those clunky window-mounted units. It mounts neatly on the wall—looking sleek and saving space—and, most importantly, it operates completely silently. I absolutely love it! It packs a real punch; when I switch on the heating, the room warms up in no time, and it powers up incredibly fast. We’re still experiencing weather here that requires heating, so having this unit has been incredibly convenient. Its dual heating and cooling functionality is a huge plus; while I haven't needed the cooling function yet, I know I can easily switch to it once the weather heats up. Given how quickly the heating kicks in, I expect the cooling will be just as fast. It works perfectly for our restaurant setting—I highly recommend it!

I would rate this 5 stars but for two things. 1. Instructinos are poorly written and does not include information about charging (pressures, etc) and 2. Customer service doesn't answer emails, or at least mine. It was easy to install, but I'd recommend watching the video several times to be sure you understand how to do each step. The wall guide and wall plate are set up to use 12" centers, not 16 or 20 inch centers like most structure are. When you get ready to seal the opening you drilled and put the tunes through, I recommend using some foam sealer to make sure it's fully sealed. While you are wrapping the line set, I recommend that you put a piece of blue tap to hole the wrap from un wrapping every few feet. That way if you let go or something, you only have a few wraps that need to be redone. Otherwise it runs well, does a great job at heating and cooling, and it was priced well for what you get.

I purchased the Mountman 12000 BTU Mini Split AC/Heating System almost 2 weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It cools my space down quickly during hot days and provides consistent when weather cool down. This is the best air conditioner I've ever bought. It was almost $100 cheaper than other stores, and I installed it exactly as instructed on YouTube—I even bought a vacuum pump specifically—and the installation was a complete success. The cooling effect is excellent, and it's quite energy-efficient, perfect for my room. Now I can finally ditch my electric heater and small window air conditioner; it's fantastic! If I need an air conditioner again in the future, I will definitely buy another one. It was very satisfying to install it myself..

I purchased this unit for my office/studio. Not a large room - about 380 sf. I watched a ton of YouTube videos on installation and went for it. I took my time and double checked everything as I went. A few hours later, the unit started right up and I was able to enjoy some wonderful cooling. Our home has a robust central system, but my work area just never seemed to cool down. I've had the system in for about a year and I love it. I am going to purchase another one for the garage. It is quiet, it cools quickly and the heat function is excellent during chilly nights. I happen to live in the desert in S California and when it's hot - it's hot. When it's chilly - it's chilly. A couple of tips: *You'll need a vac pump manifold gauge kit. I picked a nice one up for about $130. *Take your time and do your research. I was lucky enough to have a window to run my lines through - if you need to cut a hole - measure twice and ensure you understand the clearances. *I did have to mount mine a bit closer to the ceiling than is recommended as to not impede the door below it - no issue at all. *The outdoor unit vibrates as you'd expect. Make sure you mount it on a very solid pad, or anchored very securely into studs. As you can see mine is attached to the exterior wall of my home. I used 8 inch heavy construction screws through 2x4s and mounted the platform to those. Make sure you use the rubber feet under the unit. I have very little sound or vibration transfer through the wall. *If you have to replace the remote (I lost mine a few days ago) - the universal code is likely 611. If you get this thing, you'll love it.
