Aluminum Oxide is a fast, versatile and economical cutting abrasive. Aluminum Oxide is the second hardest mineral on Earth, second only to diamond. Aluminum Oxide can be used in wet and dry blasting applications for cleaning, deburring, etching and finishing. Aluminum Oxide is ideal for etching the surface of glass as it’s hardness is greater than glass. Aluminum Oxide won’t break down as fast as glass blasting media and has a longer cycle life than most blast media.

Like some others here, I bought this to do a quick project and didn't have a lot of experience with sand blasting. Had I just looked around for 5 minutes, I'd have noticed that this is about 3X the cost of buying 120 grit aluminum oxide from other companies online. That said, the product is fine and I used it to good effect on a very rusted piece of metal prior to painting. It worked well with the sand blasting gun kit that I bought at the same time.
