What I like is that this has everything you need to get started with very minimal effort. What’s more is that it makes it very easy to put together. Placing all the parts together you should be up and running in very little time. It comes with a lot of the basics without having to buy additional kit (you will need seeds) however, considering it does get you started easy enough I don’t think it gives you much guidance for a first time user to really know what they are doing. I do however like that the lamp is moveable dependant on the grow, a water level read which is easy to see and the overall package is a really nice set. It can feel a little flimsy, especially the basin, but I don’t see why it would need to be more solid at this price point. Nice for starter hydroponics and beginners as long as you do the research.

Nice unit for the price point. My wife was a little overwhelmed when she first opened the box up and saw all the pieces. She figured it out pretty quickly though, and had it put together in just a few minutes. We live in N. Texas and the weather swings wildly. So, now my wife can grow her spices indoors and not have to battle the elements when growing or picking from her plants. This past summer was absolutely brutal and she resorted to buying certain spices we have grown for years from the grocery store. Her only complaints are that the basin and top plate are a little flimsy, and the instructions, although helpful, aren't written well and are hard to understand.

I got this 12 pods hydroponic growing system because my 6 pods Aerogarden hydroponic system ran out of room. The plastic in this system seems a little flimsy and not to sturdy compared to my Aerogarden. Other than that, I like that this system comes with 2 modes settings for flowers and vegetables. You can also adjust the height to 18” for larger plants. The system comes with the plant food, tags, pods, domes & baskets. Everything you need except for the seeds. Overall, the system works great.

I used to have a competitor's growing system, and had a lot of pod baskets left over thinking I could use them in this unit. Unfortunately, this system uses square baskets where my other one used round, so they are not interchangeable. But the clear water tray is a nice perk in letting you know when it's time to add water. The drain is a nice perk too because it's recommended to change out the water every few weeks.

I found the setup instructions to be a little lacking in steps, but figured it out after some fumbling. The raising and lowering of the lights could be a smoother movement. I had this on my kitchen counter initially but found the lights to be way to bright to be around, so it has now moved to the mudroom. The added benefit is that the pump that runs every 30 minutes, although very quiet, is no longer audible from the main living area. The little plastic domes to put over each pod is nice to keep the humidity in. I'm not sure of the benefit of the stickers that I was instructed to place over each opening. The reusable picks are a nice touch in labeling what is growing in each spot... impossible to tell until they start to grow. The water tank is large and I haven't noticed the level going down in the 3 days I've been running the system. The bottom drain and top fill opening will be nice to have when I have to replace the water every 2 weeks. Alternatively, the unit comes with some supports that would allow you to lift the top (with all the pods in it) off the system and balance on the supports while you clean the tank. It comes with some fertilizer and plant stakes... everything but the water and the seeds. My only dismay is that the growing pods do not seem to be biodegradable... they feel like a latex sponge.

I have several hydroponic gardens and I really like this one. It’s handy to be able to see the water level, the plug on the bottom makes switching out the water easy too. I tested it and even after removal it works as it should when the plug is added back - no leakage. The only reason I removed a star is because the light doesn’t go down low enough when germinating seedlings (heat from the closer light helps come winter time). I worry they might stretch a bit too much due to the distance. In my picture the unit is on the right side - that’s as low as the light will go, 7-8 inches away. The water pump was much better than typical ones - it dispenses water on ALL 4 sides from the top. I still added an air stone though because I have better growth with using both. I haven’t seen a pump like this one before so it was a a happy surprise. This is a great product and I consider it a good value, definitely worth the cost. It came with everything you need to get started and everything is top quality materials. Setup was a breeze. Thumbs up! 👍🏼
