Wanted to keep, but couldn't
I bought this saw to replace a Dewalt DW779 (with XPS Light). I chose the Cruzer because of it robot arm design and ability to work closer to wall unlike the rail design on the DeWalt. The saw has some real positives, the smoothness of the slide with the arms is incredible, the power and speed of the blade cuts through wood with ease. The LED shadow light is bright very helpful. The ONE HUGE issue that made me return this saw (and this was after a month of owning it) was that the saw head flexes just too easily and will alter your angle/cut. It is more pronounced when the saw is extended out. Seams to be from where the arms connect to the rear of the bevel assembly. That is also another issue, at 0 (zero) bevel, the indent has slop with the pin being smaller then the hole. This can can have you to lock the bevel off of zero. This may be small but when it comes to FINISH molding/carpentry this is a HUGE problem. I wanted to keep this saw and support the rebirth of Delta tools which was a massive woodworking tool company. But if Delta is to survive they need to have this saw reengineered by people who USE these. Unfortunately Stanley Black & Decker has sold the Delta brand to a Taiwanese company, Chang Type Industrial Co., Ltd, who also makes tools for numerous large brands. For a tool with such a high retail price, there should be NO cost cutting measures on its features or quality. The price does not allow me to accept its flaws, so I returned it and went back to my 779.

OUTSTANDING miter saw
I am a wood worker & use this saw for a lot of my projects. And, now that I have it I plan to install crown molding in our home. The "only" small problem I had is the shadow line. It would be nice if it could be seen better in bright sun light. One more item thats a pain in the ____. The "arms" the holds miter saw onto table tubes leave something to be desired. I am unable to tighten them enough. When stand w/miter saw attached is in up right position, the saw slowly slides "down." I've placed pipe clamps on the tubes & that seems to help a little. Have called DELTA customer svc at least 30 times & get recording. NO ONE has returned my call.

Oozes of quality.
I just received this saw today, so I haven't had much of a chance to put it through its paces just yet. But what I can say is, you really have to use this saw in order to truly understand just how smooth the "robot arms" really are. Imagine passing your finger tips over a clean dust free smooth glass table top, and that will give you an idea of what it feels like to move the robot arms back and forth. The front controls require very little effort to adjust. Loosening and locking in the bevel gauge can literally be done with a single finger. The miter turn knob on the front of the saw requires just a quarter turn and almost no effort. The blue detent override button is just as effortless. The entire saw with just one exception oozes of quality. The bad: The depth stop has some play, so dados, and rabets will probably be uneven. I've never used the miter saw for that purpose so it's not a problem for me. I'll update this review soon with miter saw dimensions, impressions about cut quality, squareness out of the box, and images. If you're on the fence about this saw. So far I would highly recommend this saw. Especially at the Black Friday price of $349 down from $599 for the 10 inch version.

Alignment Issues with slide extension, no support from Delta.
I was thrilled about this saw thanks to good reviews, a space saving design, huge capacity, and robot arms. After my initial oohs and aahs, I got to work squaring everything and that's where the honeymoon ended. Miter was close but not perfect, loosing 4 screws with the included wrench and adjusting got everything aligned easy. Bevel was off, and that's where the fun started. There are 3 torx screws to adjust the bevel detent plate front and center on the saw. BUT they sit below the back curve of the fence, and there isn't enough distance between the back of the fence and the bevel detent plate to get any kind of tool in. The only way to get clearance to loosen these screws was removing the fence. Guess i'll have to redo the miter alignment now . . . After getting the blade dialed into the table I realized there was actually about 1° of slop in the 0° bevel position. OK, now that I know I can work around that. . . Confirm 45° bevels, get the fence back on, redo alignment of blade to fence. Time for the moment of truth with some cuts. Initial cuts are good, STRONG start, Strong Motor, so strong it kickbacks when you turn it on. Moved on to some wider cuts to use that smooth, smooth slide, and that's when I realized how much travel was happening over the sliding action. The blade remains square to the fence, but over the length of the slide it was moving laterally about 3/16"!! The blade would start just left of middle of the throat plate next to the fence, and end up rubbing the throat plate at extension. At some of the extreme miter positions, the lateral movement can result in hitting the extension fence. At extreme bevels, hitting the throat plate. After searching and searching for any way to align, the only thing that can affect is rotating or loosening the anchors for the glide arms. I'm not going to deal with this so I reach out to Delta. Leave a message with technical support, no response. Send message to customer support, no response. I search for parts on their site thinking its likely in the arms or the anchors, site won't load anything for the 26-2251. I called the most local service center listed on their site and they no longer provide warranty service for Delta. I call the delta service number and get routed to their parts group (since Im already waiting on technical service and customer support). It's actually outsourced to ereplacementparts, who tells me all parts for this saw are discontinued and I need to get in touch with Delta. Game over, time to return and move on. Maybe I just had a stroke of bad luck with my saw, but hearing I can't get parts on a current gen saw is enough to tell me Im done with Delta. I was ready to love this saw, but it's actually been one of the worst purchase and support experiences i've ever had.
