The set includes 2 base handles (2.2 lb each), plus 8 regular adjustment plates and 4 end plates (all 0.55 lb each). The plates attach securely, and even when fully loaded, the dumbbell feels long but manageable. I found the grip comfortable and the build quality solid—no rattling or shifting during use. Assembly Tips: Attaching and removing the plates takes a bit of finesse. Each plate has a slot on one side and a raised tab on the other, so they slide together rather than snap. While I wish these were heavier, this is a great set of adjustable dumbbells. This set is a total of 11 pounds, so each goes up to 5.5 each. Each dumbbell has three add on weights on each side. They attach easily by pushing the buttons and sliding the weight on or off. They are not all interchangeable however, the one for the end does not have a slot on both sides so it will only go on the end. I got the black set, but it does come in some fun colors too. These may not be heavy, but they are perfect for barre and for arm exercises that you should use lighter weights for. These help me save some space because I can eliminate several extra sets of dumbbells. These would be good for travel or keeping at the office in case you get an itch to do some working out on your lunch break. ... show more
