After mounting in my bilge of my fiberglass boat, the motor unit at first would not stay clipped on the base-which the manufacturer calls the "filter". I had carefully positioned the outlet hose and clamp and even trimmed my hose back a bit where it was contacting the base too closely. However it still would not stay clipped on firmly. The plastic is just not thick and the clips do not have a firm spring action to them. I remedied the problem by very carefully slightly bending out the clips so they would clip in to the motor housing better. It worked --but in the harsh environment of a boat I will have to see if it stays put. The quality of the switch unit seems very good.

Pump & Switch look well made. before I install on Boat I tested them, Switch consitantly turned on in 2.5 " of water. Pump emptied large tub of water very fast. Hope I never really need this but good to know it works and will test regularly to be sure in boat.

Purchase this as a gift for Boyfriend for Christmas. He works on boats a lot so from what I can tell he absolutely loved it used it continues to use it durable and worth the money.

I was a bit skeptical when I made this purchase given the price and that it claimed to move a huge amount of water in a short period of time. I installed this pump as a back up pump after taking on water in a storm and not being able to quickly pump water out of the boat with the manufacturer installed pump. (Scary situation). As fate would have it after installing this pump I put my boat in and accidentally put the bilge plug on the live well drain when launching (I never did that one before LOL). Well... After leaving the launch ramp I heard the pump turn on and watched the water SHOOTING out of the through hull fitting. Not trickling SHOOTING! I highly recommend this pump.
