My pet cat recently developed a medical condition that requires him taking pills twice per day. The medication needs to be in a capsule since it has a bad taste. I want to use the smallest possible capsule so make it easy to pill the cat. If the pills are crushed, they fit in a small size 3 capsule when tamped. I purchased this kit to help fill the capsules. The tools in this kit appear to be of very high quality. However, I found it impossible to hold the capsule while filling with crushed pills using the narrow spatulas included in this kit without making a mess. I wound up purchasing a capsule holder and small capsule filling funnel on Etsy. Using those with the tamper and brush included in this kit makes it easy to fill the capsules without spillage. The manufacturer is doing you a disservice by calling this product a "filling machine kit". It doesn't come close to that description. However, the tools are high quality and work well.

These tools work well at filling capsules but it's a very tedious task. I find myself only really using two of the tools at any given time. The packing tool and one of the spoons for putting the powder in the capsule. It's a very tedious process. I do wish the "spoons" were a little longer. I feel like I'd have more control over what I was doing but all in all, it works and gets the job done. Maybe if there were funnels included, it would be easier. I just find a lot of the powder ends up falling back into the bowl. I'd recommend to someone that wants to fill capsules one at a time. I quickly determined I'd rather use one of the kits where you can fill numerous capsules at once..
